I know the place very well, it is on Arab road kubwa. From the looks of things, I suspect either of the two scenerio.

1} The plot is under dispute, most area council allocation in Abuja has high chance of having dispute and that area of kubwa is notorious for that. The demolition job looks like dispute demolition because the fence was first pulled down which indicate that the orphange home has lost in court and the fence was pulled down as a warning for the orphanage to vacate the plot and after a given time has ellaps, final demolition was done. The fence was pulled down like 6months ago while the final demolition was likely done on Monday which indicate dispute.

2} The layout is commercial light industry,

The owner has to speak up, for a orphanage home to have about 150 children meaning it was approved by the government some time. And they will keep saying children are leaders of tomorrow, when you can't give them today. Shame

Government should take over those children welfare and those runing that Motherless Home for money making should be dealt with legally.

I don't have enough information but I'm living close to the orphanage home, I know how development control operates and the prevailing challenges in the area. I duduce the propable cause based on my expirience in the area.

The publisher of the video likely gave halve information to achieve certain objective.

Your comment brought tears to my eyes. So because the operators of the orphanage home made a mistake in erecting the wrong structure, the government can equally do whatever st the expense of these innocent children. Leaving them in more hardship and torture. Hasnt life suffered them enough by making them orphans at such tender age?

I am outraged by this news. I have no doubt the orphanage erred in one way of the other, but outrightly throwing 150 children who are already living a cold and wretched life due to the absence of parents in their life onto the streets is wickedness.

For those ones who have ascribed no wrongdoing to this wicked act, they do so because they're legalistic and have no iota of humanity in them. Laws are meant to protect the most vulnerable not oppress them. It is an issue when coddled public servants flout due process and visit untold harm on defenceless people. The bulldozer operator, the policemen who supervised, the director general who signed off this crime are all wicked people.

The problem is that the publisher of the story told half truth, when I passed in front of the orphanage home on Tuesday I felt bad but the publisher of the vedeo should have said the truth and people would have come out to help the orphanage home based on the truth.
I believe people can come out to buy the land back from the guy that won the case in the court and rebuild it for those kids instead of usual blame the government video that tells half truth to provoke people's emotion.

An Alhaji very high up in government is interested in that piece of land, the children can turn to almajiri for all he cares. Go back there a year later and see what will be built there instead

Well I expected before the demolition that the ministry of women affairs would have come in to see how they can relocate the children to different homes act the country.
In other words government should have distributed the children to different homes willing to take in the children by dividing them up

This case of leaving children to aimlessly wander around don't seem serious to you, it is similar to IDP in Bornu(the case of Bornu is worse). Yet our senators and public officers sit down and spend fat salary. No child protection law was observed before building was demolished. if the video was a hoax then the people behind it should be arrested for portraying children in such manner.

Children are innocent young minded people, please let us not hold them accountable for the action of some so called disputers. I hope you understand my nagging...?

Surprising as it may sound there are actually child support services in Nigeria. Especially in Abuja!
Instead of just sitting here and ranting all you want, you could actually go the extra-mile and find out what the real situation is on ground!

Just yesterday, after the news on traders goods burnt at Dunamis Abuja, i was disturbed with the reports online and comments and i took it upon myself to find out what the actual situation was- and i did get inside info on what actually transpired!

My point dont take everything hook, line and sinker!

........image I.....even if the orphanage is an illegal structure, why not get another accommodation and transfer the kids .........this world is wicked....... Same people who gave orders to pull down these kids home will come in Church and sow useless seed

Let the needful be done.

Let them provide this our children a better home because I believe that most of this children are not complete orphan, they might be your product of your incidental discharge or of that is your relative.
