What arrangement did the orphanage have before it illegally built an orphanage in the wrong area?

how some of us think is the biggest problem of this country.
So if the owners of the orphanage home didn't make any arrangements then those orphans should now suffer?
In the a place where people's brain are put in a good use, is the government not the people to take the responsibility of making sure orphans are well taken care of?
It's well oh. Those orphans would suffer because someone allegedly broke the law.
It's a pity

Noooo, you are gettin it wrong here!
Because the people involved are children, motherless children at that.
The Authorities involved should have made an alternative arrangements for those kids, before bringing down the illegal structure/building.
We will NEVER condone this.....

The Department of Development Control, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA), has been accused of pulling down an orphanage home at Kubwa - Abuja.
But what is the word accused doing in this news report when there is a video?!
Accused is used when it is done overnight with no one sure of who perpetrated the destruction.
Nigeria wack journalism sometimes sef , e get as e be!
We won't be suprised to read from the authorities involved denying this less than 24 hours!
This is Nigeria!

FCDA people are sadists.

Even if the homes were built in the wrong place, they could have made plans for a new place before demolishing.

May God help the orphans.

You are right, lots of fraudulent activities going on in some so called orphanages. The Government has an obligation to resettle those children.

FCDA has been demolishing since....

If you build in Abuja without approval from FCDA, you might face this.

*Thinking*
Arab road, was this orphanage near the GLASS Church?

That's why I use to say we blacks are heartless. So you are happy those orphans were thrown off the streets because someone made a mistake? In a civilized society, those unfortunate kids should have first been resettled before demolishing the building

I know the place very well, it is on Arab road kubwa. From the looks of things, I suspect either of the two scenerio.

1} The plot is under dispute, most area council allocation in Abuja has high chance of having dispute and that area of kubwa is notorious for that. The demolition job looks like dispute demolition because the fence was first pulled down which indicate that the orphange home has lost in court and the fence was pulled down as a warning for the orphanage to vacate the plot and after a given time has ellaps, final demolition was done. The fence was pulled down like 6months ago while the final demolition was likely done on Monday which indicate dispute.

2} The layout is commercial light industry, the land use was later changed to residential high density. The orphanage home built classroom and some houses which in not in conformity of the specific land use of that layout and development control moved in to enforce that.

Either way I sympathize with the orphanage home, I know them very well infact I v given them something in the past but if it is based on any of the two scenerio, the development control are just doing their job but knowing Abuja and development control very well, they will not demolish that orphanage home based on 2nd scenerio because that orphanage home has been there for a very long time and they did not do anything to it, development control really don't enforce landuse development with full force in satalite towns and on layout that is not Fcda because most area council don't have credible landuse design policy.

I believe the publisher of this news deliberately gives half information to blame development control and the land where the orphanage was built on was in dispute and they v lost in court which prompt court to order development control to demolish their home.

Irrespective of the irregularities, at least the children should have been put into consideration or better still an alternative accommodation be provided for them
