Eating of dates really helped me, I don't feel sick anymore while travelling

HELPFUL TIPS, BUT AS A SUFFERER OF CHRONIC KINETOSIS I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THE ONLY TIP THAT HELPS IS ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE GOT, AND PREPARING YOURSELF TO FACE ALL THE SYMPTOMS EVERY BLESSED MOMENT. THAT WAY YOU CAN ENJOY ALL THE TERRIBLE FEELINGS THAT COME, INSTEAD OF PANICKING.
NOTHING ELSE WORKS.

As a sufferer i can assure you that some of those tips up there works!!, as i actually unknowingly do them to ease the problem. (well now i know they are documented tips).

For instance

I dare not sit away from the window. I have had to leave an already full bus and enter the next bus just because where was available wasn't close to the window. Its that serious.

I dare not eat much, in fact i take flagil so that my bowel doesn't somersault on the way. Also as a kid i would throw up vehemently in my dad's car. Now i have some control over that by not eating before travelling and taking flagil tablets and also piriton tablets.

I usually put my nose in the wind and make sure i don't catch a whiff of any perfume, otherwise na puke straight.

i have no trouble in commercial vehicles but private cars are something else...i'll just be sick till i come down

From my experience, I have suffered a lot. I have tried different things most of which have been listed by the OP. But one surest way I have seen as been effective is being the driver of the car. When I drive, no matter how bad the road, whatever I eat, I don't feel it. Second tip that helped me is sitting on the front seat when I am not driving. Anytime I seat at the front, I feel very fine. Aside these two options, I haven't found a reliable way to deal with it.

To sleep while on a journey is virtually impossible for me, it is just in my DNA to stay awake and alert till I disembark

However, I envy those who can do this conveniently while traveling without feeling anyhow...

Each time I travel and we get to one of those Refreshment stops, I always marvel as to how my co-travelers grab every available food with no side effects whatsoever...the best I can make do with is plantain chips to avoid unforseen "stomach Royal Rumble"

It is good to know I'm not the only one, Travelling in a car whether private or commercial with the AC on is usually the worst for me, also the smell of exhaust fumes from other vehicles induce nausea for me.

OP thanks for the suggestions, I'll try it out.

Perfume, car AC and close windows is like death sentence to me when travelling. I have to even use keke to travel or move as far as I can before boarding a bus or car.

Try hold a wrap of weed n puff

I always tot I was the only one that have this problem. My family and frnds always make fun of me � I won't forget the day I travelled with my roomie, I puke��� all over her It was so humiliating���

OP just dey talk garbage. I was prescribed Avomine for this in 1992 after enduring years of torment with motion sickness and from that day till now, my life has never remained the same. So go to your doctor and ask for this or other similar drugs to be sure it is safe for you.

What about sleeping, i do that a lot. Any journey above 30mins, na sleep o

It can also help if you sit at the front, you will notice that when you drive you that have motion sickness.There is a medication, scopolamine, not buscopan o, that can also help.The problem is I have searched throughout my state for the medication, I hsve not found it.

This is not a joke...let her drink small portion of petrol and she will never vomit again when traveling

I take Rophegan and sleep off. That drug is a life saver.

I remember throwing up in my dad's car too but I realized early enough that cars with A.C and air freshener trigger my motion sickness...I haven't gotten over this still, I try to avoid cars with air fresheners and AC...I prefer natural air in moving cars

i used to suffer this alot when i was a kid, i vomit all over the place, but as i grow older, it became bearable though i noticed i get a bad feeling inhaling petrol smell in filling stations while the driver refill or the smell of AC, boarding buses with AC is kinda tough for me. how do u tell the driver to put off the AC in detriment of others?.
remedy:i dare not eat beofe, or during my journey to avoid stories that touch.

Avomine. It is an antiemetic; that is, a drug that prevents vomiting

Avomine. But the common one is scopolamine. Another one is cyclizine.

Avomine will only prevent vomiting, which is just one of the symptoms of motion sickness. The sleeping is a side effect of avomine and not the main therapeutic effect

Scopolamine is not available over the counter. You can only get it via a doctor's prescription

I think it’s better than embarrassing myself with vomit

I always sit by the window of commercial buses. I avoid reading or touching my phone on bumpy roads or during traffic holdups.

The condition is worse whenever I'm in an air conditioned bus or whenever I perceive petrol fumes.

If it's possible, let her not eat or drink anything on the day she'll be traveling and throughout the course of the journey. This method has helped a number of people not to vomit, because there will be nothing to vomit
