According to professor Oloyede, the sales of form will start January 10th and last for 6 weeks. Followed by the examination in March. He further disclosed that the board will not allow Cyber Cafe operators to register candidates because they are extorting candidates and overcharging them and also engaging in services that they do not have the capacity to do.

Official JAMB Registration Date For 2019 UTME Form Announced
Based on earlier reports, The JAMB form will be sold for N3,500 as directed by the Federal Government. Detailed information, such as procedures for registering, will be provided to you on this above specified date. You can visit this website for updates.

The professor urged all prospective candidates to do their registration and access the board’s major services in any of its 718 accredited centres in the country. He assured that the general elections would not affect the sale of forms, adding that the board had adjusted its examination schedule ahead of the election.

With this announcement, all prospective candidates are urged to kick start their preparation towards the 2019 UTME. For a start, candidates are advised to use the 2019 JAMB Brochure, to confirm the courses they intend to study, requirements and schools that offer such courses. Also, the 2019 JAMB Syllabus will help guide you on the topics you are required to cover for each of the subjects you will be taking in 2019 UTME.

Prof Oloyede equally revealed that there will be special centres for visually impaired candidates. He added that the board was already considering the introduction of a new technology for smooth conduct of the examination for such candidates.

He finally warned that the board would not tolerate any JAMB-related materials in all the centres, especially question papers, as most often turned out to be fake, thereby duping innocent candidates. He said that JAMB would also not hesitate to blacklist any centre that attempted to undermine the integrity of its examination through infractions.

JAMB begins sale of 2019 UTME registration forms

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) commenced sale of registration forms, for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, today Thursday, January 10, 2019.
Sale of forms will last for six weeks.
JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has said the board will stop using cyber cafes for registration of candidates from this year.
He urged all prospective candidates to do their registration and access the board’s major services, in any of its 718 accredited centres in the country.
“We are no longer going to allow the cyber cafes to do the registration exercise for prospective candidates because they are extorting candidates and overcharging them.

“They also do services they do not have the capacity to do, coupled with the fact that there was no way of tracking them because they were not registered.
“Another major reason is the mix-up they create on the data of the candidates. Some will just ask the candidates to write their names and other details down for them.
“On accumulating such data, they now get all of them mixed-up, thereby creating problems for these candidates.
“We know there will be uproar because they make a lot of illegitimate money from these services, but we cannot leave the candidates at their mercy.
“Particularly when people will make noise that it is JAMB that was extorting them,” Oloyede said.
The 2019 UTME is scheduled to commence on March 16.

JAMB Warns That No Two Candidates Must Use Same Phone Number For Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has warned prospective candidates for the 2019 UTME to ensure they adhere strictly to the stipulated registration guidelines. The Board's Head of media, Dr Fabian Benjamin gave this warning on Friday during an interview with newsmen in Lagos.

According to Benjamin, all candidates who desire to register for the examination must ensure they begin by sending their full names, (surname first) to the code provided by the board. In doing this, candidates must ensure that no other person had used the telephone number for the same purpose.

JAMB Warns That No Two Candidates Must Use Same Phone Number For Registration
“No two persons must use a single GSM number in commencing the registration process as it will not be acceptable. “The way it is configured is one individual to one telephone number that will remain exclusive to that single individual for the purpose of the entire examination process. “Not even siblings are allowed to share a particular telephone number for this purpose. “

However, candidates who used their phone lines last year but are still going to participate in this year's UTME can use the same phone line they used last year for that purpose.

In the case of a missing telephone line, Benjamin advised that it would be safe to get a fresh telephone number for the purpose to send the code for the candidate’s profile number. “No two persons can share a telephone number for the purpose of confidentiality. “As a rule, it has always been one person to a telephone number to get a profile number that will enable candidates do the proper registration and capturing,’’ he said.

JAMB tells candidates to ignore the dates being circulated about the two examinations.
Following the postponement of the 2019 UTME, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that the dates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and its mock exam would soon be announced.
JAMB in its bulletin asked the general public and candidates to ignore the dates being circulated about the two examinations.
The exam body also said that all arrangements to conduct the mock exam and the 2019 UTME have been concluded and also ask the candidates to wait for the new dates which will be announced soon.

The board further said that the mock exam was introduced in 2017 to avail candidates the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the conduct of the computerized test.
JAMB also maintains that the mock exam was designed to help candidates who are coming in contact with computer know the basics of computer-based tests and prevent any phobia that might arise.
The exam body therefore urged all UTME candidates to guard jealously all their documents pertaining to the UTME and Direct Entry examination.
Recall that the 2019 UTME was initially scheduled to start on Saturday, March 16, 2019 and end on Saturday, March 23, 2019, while the mock exam was slated for February 23, 2019, but had to be cancelled because the date coincided with the general elections.

JAMB Printing of Examination Slip for UTME Candidates 2019 .
The Head, Media and Information of the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos.
The registration of candidates for the all Computer Based Test (CBT) commenced on Feb. 10 and terminated on Feb. 21.
According to him, registration was a huge success, adding that there were no hitches at all across the various accredited registration centres nationwide.
The JAMB spokesman also dismissed rumours in some quarters that candidates could start printing their examination notification slip from March 2.
He said, “This is misleading and absolutely not correct.
“Let me sound it clearly that the board has not come up with any date for both the examination and the printing of examination notification slip for candidates.
“The board will announce the date for the 2019 UTME soon.
“As it is now, no date has been fixed yet for both the examination and the printing of examination notification slip.
“The examination slips are usually printed, two weeks to the main examination, but that is only after when the examination date has been fixed.
“There is no way anybody can print examination notification slip when the examination date, itself, has not been fixed.”
He, urged candidates and other stakeholders to remain calm, reassuring them that the board would make announcement and proper sensitisation about the date for the examination and printing of examination

JAMB Exam Date: The 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been announced. You should already know that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) started the JAMB registration for the 2019 JAMB UTME on January 10th, 2019. The registration was completed on February 21st, 2019.

It is also important to note that the 2019 Registration Portal has now been re-opened till
15th March 2019 (by midnight), for candidates, who have already created their profiles and purchased the UTME or DE ePINS.
The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin in an interview with NAN, said that over 700 centres have so far been accredited for the conduct of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The JAMB exam date seems to have been affected by the Nigerian General Elections and the new actual date for the main exam is yet to be announced by the board but a source hinted that the exam has been shifted to 11th April 2019 . However, this is yet to be officially confirmed by JAMB.
Candidates are to begin reprinting their Official Exam Slips as from 2nd April 2019 to see their Exam details such as approved Venues and Time Schedule for their CBT Exam.
Also See: JAMB Registration Centres
The registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ishaq Oloyede, had previously said that the 2019 general elections would not affect the board’s 2019/2020 examination. He made this remark while fielding questions from journalists shortly after delivering the 2018 Annual Sobo Sowemimo Lecture of the Abeokuta Club in Abeokuta. However, the general elections were moved forward by a week and this could have indefinitely affected the JAMB schedule.
Mr Oloyede had earlier said since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had given the dates of the elections, then the board would only need to adjust accordingly. “I don’t think there will be any need for a shift in the JAMB exam date because of the 2019 general elections. I believe INEC has done well by giving us a prior notice six months ago. They have given us the date of the elections. So we have no excuse not to have adjusted. We have adjusted appropriately,” he said.
Mr Oloyede decried the rate at which candidates, who were not qualified to write the examination applied for it, thereby, causing what he described as “unnecessary luggage” on the board.
He said that the examination body would adopt stiffer measures to check incidences of unqualified candidates from applying and writing the examination for the 2019/2020
admission exercise.
Mr Oloyede noted that JAMB would not allow anyone to take undue advantage over others, saying the board would not repeat the mistake it recorded in the last examination as regards this development.
So, without further ado, you can check the JAMB Brochure for various courses and faculties, the JAMB Syllabus for the various subjects, study JAMB Past Questions and Answers or simply start to Practice JAMB CBT for 2019 Exam for Free .
Important: List of Prohibited Items in JAMB Exam Hall

Tips to Help You with JAMB UTME

1. Locate Your Venue Before the Exam

The JAMB Examination Slip is a detailed outline of your exam centre, subjects, and time of the exam. It leaves no room for guessing. After re-printing your JAMB slip and seeing your centre, it is advisable to take a step further and locate your centre before the exam. Getting familiar with the directions to your centre will prevent panicking and stress on the exam day.

2. Arrive Early

This is very important. You should be at your exam centre at least 30 minutes before the time stipulated on your exam slip. You might want to eat something before going, but this is solely up to you. You could also go along with some cash just in case.

3. Question Format

You will be given two hours to answer 180 questions; 60 for English, and 40 for each of the other subjects. Speed, and accuracy matter a lot. If you have been using the JAMB CBT Mobile App (for android mobile phones) and JAMB CBT Software (for Desktops and Laptops), the examination should be simple enough.

4. Important Keys to Remember

If you are using the keyboard, here are the most important keys;

N – To move to the next question

P – To go back to the previous question

A – To select option A on a question

B – To select option B on a question

C – To select option C on a question

D – To select option D on a question

S – To submit your exam (Be Careful)

R – To Cancel Submit (and RETURN)

The above will be stated before you start the exam, so you should read instructions properly before starting.

However, you should note that there are actions you cannot perform using the keyboard. In this case, you must use your Mouse (or track-pad). These are;

If you need to switch from one subject to another. That is, if you want to answer a particular subject before going to another.

If you need to use the on-screen calculator at the top right corner of your screen.

The on-screen calculator will be available on the screen for candidates who will be taking subjects that involve calculations.

Ondo University Shut Down Over Students’ Protest On New Policy

The management of Ondo State government-owned Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) have shut down the institution following protest by students over the decision of the school to impose “no payment of tuition, no test and no examination policy”.
Channels Television learnt that the step by the management of the institution to enforce the policy on Tuesday as 100level and 200level students started their test, was resisted by the students who staged a peaceful protest on the university campus.
In a circular released by the University’s authorities in March 2019, students who are yet to pay their recently hike tuition will pay additional #10,000 for late registration, without which students would not be allowed to write the first semester 2018/2019 tests and examination, tagged.
A press statement signed by the university’s Registrar, Dr. Sunday Ayeerun indicates that “all students of the university are, therefore, advised to proceed on the Mid-Semester break with immediate effect”.
The statement says the students are to resume to campus on Monday, May 20, 2019.
