Cletus77: You think they don't know? They do. All of them. Including the BMC's with official positions like Tolu. However, I don't really blame them if one looks at the picture holistically. The Buhari's regime is implementing a classic program of fascist socialism, where the State uses poverty to subdue its citizens and the security services to oppressive the stubborn ones in order to intimidate the rest into silence. And it has worked, of courses enabled by the twin postcolonial and seminal divisions of tribe, ethnicity and religion. Nigeria is a country that stands as on a tripod of the Hausa/Fulani, Igbo and Yoruba nation-states. To rule, you just need the backing of at least the political class from two of these tripod. Buhari has the backing he needs from the North and Tinubu-led political elites of the South West. That is enough to rule in Nigeria. The BMCs are also victims of the sorry state of Nigeria's affairs. However, they survive based on the penury they get from Buhari. So they know. But survival, for them and as expected, is first. So they ignore. 6 Likes |

GavelSlam:But they are increasing their investments in Qatar . Is GSKs exit also about shale ? is Nestle leaving because of shale and renewable energy ? Accept Buhari has failed and now apart from being an economic failure he is also known as a shameless electoral thief who has been conducting election for not than 2 months all in a bid to rig and steal the vote of the people . Even Jonathan we called clueless delivered a far better electoral experience 11 Likes |

I always wondered what would happen when Nigeria's oil dries up. Yes, all these companies woule leave. I hope the NNPC would truly become competitive like Petrobras or Saudi Aramco and set up a company to be engaged in petroleum exploration and production. A situation where these IOCs produce and the NNPC does nothing but receive money is an anomaly which does not happen anywhere in the world. Nigeria needs to take over and manage Nigeria's assets. 5 Likes |

Next level thing. By the time Buhari and his team spend 4 years in power,I hope and pray there would still be Nigeria. Wilbros has left, solgas has left, michelin has left, dunlop has left, PZ has left, Nestle has left and now, Mobil is leaving. These ate the great multinationals. Buhari may not he the one responsible for those who had left in the past but the situation got worse in his time. He couldn't manage it at all. Obasanjo warned Buhari of his refusal to renew oil licences. Now the realities are staring us in the face. Make we dey drink our oyel now. Nonsense. I wonder what the Buhari economic team members are made up of. |

Optimist88: You want to show yourself abi? I'm saying there's is a steady commitment away from oil, and you are here telling me about untapped oil. Combustion engine vehicles (Diesel and petrol) are being phased out in Europe. Many homes are beginning to install solar panels. Wind energy is being used to power many homes and industries. Abi you dey see coal trains again? Just as coal is in less demand so is oil being phased out. In addition, there are many places with Shale (the source rock for petroleum) which can now be extracted making far-flung countries such as Nigeria less attractive even in the short to medium term. To think you even got.likes tells me the average Nigrian is highly unimformed. 2 Likes |
