Of course you wouldn't find American and Chinese universities in this top 10. They are the biggest polluters you would ever find and their universities are complicit...

Covenant University Gives Every other private Uni in Nigeria a very long gap. Oyedepo Educational tactics is one which Government should employ.

I read an interview where the VC of UI admitted that covenant was very strategic and a potential pain in the ass for UI... While CU still needs to improve in many other areas especially student experience and religious moderation, the future is very much bright...

Covenant Uni is doing great. It shows the private sector and run the economy. I believe strongly in Capitalism more then a socialist system. Meanwhile Afe babalola school fees is Enomerous save for two years you can buy a Nissan Murano tokunbo yet has little to show.

Private sector is key, especially in countries that are as populous like Nigeria in which govt can't adequately provide for all services.

You can't compare the delivery of
NTA to Channels
Nitel to MTN
Kaduna refinery to Dangote refinery
FIIRO, Oshodi to IITA, Ibadan

The only problem with private sector is that it comes with the baggage of inequality and inaccessibility. While the public sector is mismanaged by leaders produced by a quota system. When you realise that our president is not qualified to be a gateman at most Nigerian banks you begin to get the significance of the problem.
People claim goodluck was not good but he implemented tetfund, paid first tranche of needs assessment, initiated pressid(which was cancelled because of southern domination of the list). How can such a country's public sector grow?

Hmmm...
While those private sector to public sector comparison are quite valid, I believe the ultimate is still govt going into business. Even the advanced nations do interfere in private sector in order to keep their private sector afloat.
What stops our govt from demanding accountability from UI and UNN? You can't just fund them then give them autonomy to misbehave like we are seeing them do.
