Thank you very much for clicking, hahaha. So I was one point short of a 3rd class; 2.5 on the dot, hahaha. I finished from one of the recognized universities in this country. I read mathematics at the Bsc level and thinking of furthering in same at the masters level and that's about it. However, I have questions to enable me make the right decisions.

1) Do all the schools in the subject (Unilorin, Unilag, UI, LASU, UniPort, ABU, UNN and UNIBEN) admit Masters students yearly? That's quite ignorant but I'm asking because I am not sure.

2) I'll be rounding off service by July 2019 and I'm hard pressed: I wouldn't want to waste time at home if the job is not forthcoming, so which of these unis would still be selling form by June/July (I don't want to spend Dec at home) ? Asking because I need to tender my NYSC discharge certificate which is not ready! Do I need to tender stuffs like primary and secondary school certificates in the process?

3) Since I don't have up to 3.0, do I stand a chance without going the PGD route? If yes, which recognized first-generation federal university (anywhere in the south west or east, lol, I don't care) ? If no, which ones on the list?

4) Will you kindly tell me when forms for the university masters in 2019 will be on sale? Any idea?

Thanks guy, I really appreciate.

Okay, thank you very much, but I still have a question. Do universities sell masters form yearly or towards the end of the current masters session? Like Unilorin masters runs for 18 months and I read that the last time they sold masters form was May - July, 2018, the students wrote the exam on July 7th if I remember vividly. This means, based on my assumption, that Unilorin will not sell masters form this year? Program runs for 18 months so calculating, methinks they don't want to admit any more postgraduate students till the 18 months for the current session expires? Am I right? Also, Unilag just admitted someone I know so they are pretty much off the table too for now. Am I getting it wrong?

Unilorin sell their masters form every year. Finished from there and hopefully going for my masters there diz yr

Are you just assuming or talking based on facts? Some folks started the session August/September 2018, and August/September 2019 makes it 12 months, not 18 months. Are you saying they admit before the session of the current students expires (or at a fixed time each year)? Remember, undergraduate runs for 12 months or less and that's why universities admit towards the expiration of the current session, which makes undergraduate admission a yearly one. But unlike undergraduate, since masters run for 18 months, don't you think it follows similar pattern? Towards expiration of current UniIlorin masters session which is actually Dec/Jan and masters students hop in Feb 2020? Do you understand what I wrote? Am I wrong? Please read my post to the guy above you.

" Applicants for the Master degree programmes who are
graduates of the University of Ilorin and other recognized
Universities, must have a minimum of Second Class Honours

which they have their first degrees. However, applicants with
Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division) and those with
higher classes of degrees seeking admissions into programmes
outside those in which they have their first degrees may be
admitted, provided they satisfy Senate in a qualifying examination
to be conducted. The least class of Degree for all academic
programme applicants is Second Class Honours Degree (Lower
Division). Regardless of the institution where the Bachelor’s
degree is obtained, ALL candidates shall apply early for their
official Bachelor’s degree transcript to be sent to the Head of
Department (HOD) of their vaious programme, University of Ilorin,
Ilorin, Nigeria, before the expiration of the stated deadline."

They admit every year unless your department has more than enough PG students that are yet to graduate then they won't bring out advert for that particular department... Currently running my Msc there

The postgraduate calendar is different from undergraduate. Both program run a 12 month calendar ( all things been equal). University of Ilorin like other universities in Nigeria run between 12 to 18 months calendar year for postgraduate. 12 months course work, 6 months research. After the end of twelve calendar month depending on the department, the university admit new students while old students are on their thesis or dissertation as the case may be

1) Almost all Nigeria universities admit yearly though some department or option in the sch may not be available yearly
but Pg form na yearly tin
and if a particular course or options isn't available for a particular year the sch will not advertise it ..so ensure u read advert before u apply

2) u can always google for when form will be out .. that information is online. u can even register on one of the many blogs for quick notification. And yes u need ur Waec its very important+ degree result and certificate of local government of origin + Nysc+ birth certificate + at least 3 referees. All might not be needed, each sch has its own requirement ..so get those ready ( primary sch result isn't really important as much as no)
However, some schs may allow u to buy d form and present d aforementioned only after admission
3). 2.5 is second class lower that's the minimum for admission into any MSC program in any Nigeria university. so forget watin anybody dey tell. though it is true, when they have many applicants, they will have to admit those with better CGPA first. otherwise 2.5 is a goal( u can check online for schs were u will stand a beta chance).....maths is relative fast in all Nigeria universities.. so any should do
4) Dude those are information you can get online urself ..google am

You read mathematics and escaped with 2.5. Yet, you want to further in that line. You must be a joke.

Go through PGD route and study something else since you don't have up to 3.0

When will the current Msc session end? You mean they would admit before your session ends which I assume should be around March 2019 (just heard of ASUU strike)? And if they admit, do you think two we could run masters concurrently like that? Are there Msc students who came in before you (not people with poor performance)?

I never said holistically math was fast ..I said relative( meaning somehow, or somewhat, )
that's when compared with most other department
