Hello guys please help me check my story Few days ago I made my interest here on investing into TB.. so because my place is far from GT bank and won't be chanced to the bank in person so I decided to inquire through their email assistant. The response email sent the name and number of my account manager. We spoke in phone and when I asked if it's necessary I come to the bank in person for documentation he said not really necessary that I should write a letter for TB request on my account. Scanned and sent to the branch email which he sent the branch email to me. He also said there do TB booking every two weeks and the last was 12.85% and the next will be next week. Finally when I aksed of the minimum he said 100k Please hope everything so far is in track ? |

Hi everyone, - Is it possible to find a bank that'd do tbills for me for me for 31 days? Or that can only be found in MMF? - If so, what are the MMF rates like? - I understand that MMF doesn't pay upfront like TBs.. So how do they pay? Please advise Apologies for the newbie questions Thank you Thank you |

I really need to understand something here... if I buy a TB at 12% for 364 days, Now my misconception is this Is it a one time interest rate that is calculated on my investment Or the 12% is calculated monthly on my capital till the maturity time 2 Likes |

I went to First Bank today to make inquiry about TBil (Primary Market to be precised) and the person in charge told me to fill the form for it and the money in my account will be deducted immediately but it can only start counting from next week Wednesday being 17/04/2019 when the TBil will be available. My question is, is this how TBil works? I thought it can only be deducted on that said Wednesday? Is the guy really truthful or is he trying to use the money for business first or what? Please can someone address this issue for me because i am confuse. Didn't fill the form though. |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by OgogoroFreak(m): 7:42pm On Apr 09, 2019 |
bobeefc:Yes, it's correct. If you read the first 10.25 pages of this thread, you'll know how to calculate it yourself. 1 Like |

Yes Ma'am it is correct. 500,000 * 0.1025 per cent = 51,250 51,250 divided by 364 days is 140.796...... 140.796..... times 114 days is 16,050.824175..... Remember that interest is per annum, that's why I divided the interest by 364 days, and multiplied it by 114 days. MODIFIED: Also please read previous pages of this thread like Ogogoro (which kin name be that sef) stated above bobeefc: 3 Likes |
