CastedDude:
Tragedy struck earlier today after a little boy was electrocuted in Maikunkele, Bosso Local Government area of Niger State.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Muhammad Arafat - was shocked to death after the transformer was left wide open and the innocent child walked into it..

The incident caused lament in the area as residents and symphathizers gathered at the scene to mourn where the boy passed away.

Community leaders, parents and stakeholders have been urged to ensure that transformers situated in areas are fenced and locked to guide against such unfortunate occurrences..

What a sad news!

Imagine that elephant size electric current on such a young teen.

Negligence by both the parents of the boy to watch over the child and the PHCN authority should share majority of the blame for failing to build a barricade around the facilities.

I don't know if you have a kid?if no, then you won't understand how kids function.the government and system have failed us.we now see things that are wrong to be normal in Nigeria.the tranfomer in the first instance is not suppose to be exposed in such a way that a kid will have access to it.the kid must have seen those wires as items to play with.I pray God gives the parents the fortitude to bear the loss of this young innocent soul.R.I.P.

thank you my bro, we fail that innocent soul. the system and the society fail him even in death.

And I came back today, I was told my last son of just a year threw the house-phone I just bought for my house help from a storey building and destroyed the phone.

When I asked her, the first thing she had to tell me was that she was not the one that threw it. That answer alone made me want to beat the he’ll out of her when I never intended to.

How do you leave kids unattended to?
Really this hurts. And you see adults beating kids out of frustration for trying to explore, when it is the adult that should be dealt with for not been around to guide them.

My heart bleeds. Looks same age as my first son, and I just can’t just imagine the unthinkable.

Avoidable loss. Rest well son. Sincerely I’m pained.

In saner climes. The parents will be held for negligence.Sent to jail. How did this even happen? The life and well being of growing children is the responsibility of adults. Some insane people will say now, that is how God wants it.

WHY WILL SUCH FATE BEFALL INNOCENT SOULS LIKE THIS WHILE THE LIKES OF TINUBU STILL ROAM THE EARTH.....LIFE IS REALLY UNFAIR JARE!

When David in the bible decided to do census. God didn't kill him, it was people who didn't know about it that died. When three cousins (Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany; King George V of England; and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia) decided to wage war against themselves, they caused world war II - millions of unrelated people died because of it.*

Yam rots from the head.

Problem generation spotted. You clearly don't have kids. And will be one of those helicopter parents constantly meddling in their child's affairs, going to fight in school for petty issues.

Ever considered that there were more kids involved - chasing each other and when this happened the rest disappeared? This is something that could have happened right in front of his parents and multiple adults.

It's called an accident for a reason. Blame the community, NEPA and our able government for putting something like that within reach of PLAYING kids. Look at the picture, the gate's fallen!

The parent/guardian of that child should be held responsible
Yeah. The parents kept the transformer there. The parents are the ones who fell the fence and refused to fix it. If you had kids or could remember what it was like to be one, you wouldn't write this.

Or you won't go to work. You'll just be stalking your child 24/7?

Kids are kids, the one that wants to walk into transformer will rip their hands right from yours and ram their heads right into it all in the name of, "You cannot catch me."

Why should a dangerous stuff like that be kept open?
Sensible person spotted. The rest are blaming the parents. It shouldn't have been on the ground in the first place.

I've got one just like it around me and it's seated well above the ground.

At the end of the day, maintenance reduces avenue for stealing.

PHCN in that area should be held responsible cause they saw it and they know it's danger but the decided to face cutting of light which is inadequate

Rest In Peace Little Boy. Niger State Government don't Value Life at The First Place all They Know Is How To Collect Tax here and There. May God have Mercy on Us All.

The child died due to carelesseness of the parents and the power holding co,pany.

This has to be some sort of joke. So a kid walks straight to that environment and doesn't feel uncomfortable at the sight of all the cross cables and steel and stuff. And no one is around to stop the child from getting near a transformer?
Wow!!!!!

The truth is those parents were very negligent, they obviously stay around there, they would have averted this if they paid attention to the child

This is very sad to say the least. Meanwhile, that equipment is not a transformer. It is called a FEEDER PILLAR and should never be left opened. The way this young boy died suggest that someone pushed him - May be during some of these rough plays children do. The family should hold Abuja Electricity distribution responsible cos that thing was never suppose to be left opened. May his soul rest in peace.
