The Lagos State Taskforce was swamped on Ikorodu Garage. Ikorodu Garage is home to various types of street trading from those selling meat to fruits to mobile phones and so on, in fact, you can do a window shopping in this garage. 60% of Ikorodu traffic can be traced to this garage as the sellers at times block the road in order to sell their wares.

The clearing of the garage was coordinated by Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC). According to pictures made available to AutoReportNG, they made sure that everywhere was cleared and no kiosk or stands were left standing, our source informed us that the clearing was to force the traders to move out of the street permanently and moved into Owutu and Sabo Markets.

The question is, after forcefully evicting them from the street which is a welcome development, will they be able to afford the newly built markets? Are we not going to see another Tejuosho Market in Yaba? These women and men are bread-winners of their home and they need to fend for their family.

We hope the Lagos State Government will do the needful and help to subsidize the fares.

These are the images we got for you...

If Lagos wan get clean streets and gutters, street trading gats stop, or reduce to barest minimum. There also has to be an effective and sustainable disposal and recycling program on ground.

We'll get there.

Next level things. these were the people who voted massively for them in the recent elections because most of the learned don't vote in lagos. They rather prefer turning their apartment into a situation room grin. I learnt VIO too have returned to the streets. Unfortunately, the traders wont learn their lesson now that they've been dumped after being used.

They want to drive developers away from developing Lagos.

We will not take it

Hypocrite.

Tomorrow, you'll claim not to be tribalistic.

If you've ever been to that garage, you'll see all tribes there, especially westerners. But no, your minute IQ won't let you see the sadness in the thread

Another of "Oshiomhole's go-and-die" loading.

If these people had a decent option they won't be trading in those places.

It seems creating unemployment is far more fun for govt than creating jobs or alternative for really poor and desperate people.
