Please house, at what point exactly is the proof of funds for express entry needed.
Is it during the EE profile creation/application or after the ITA?

It's after ITA that you will be asked to submit the documents needed to show POF.

If your passport will expire before your medicals will expire, you are likely to get an ADR for a new passport. But once you get a visa, the visa remains valid for Canada.

"Visa officers will not put a visa in an expired document and will not issue a visa for a period surpassing the expiry date of the passport or travel document. Occasionally, documents containing valid visas are cancelled or replaced. If a valid visa inside an expired document is presented at the POE along with a valid passport or travel document, the visa is considered valid."

I am so angry with ICES. My application was 12 weeks on Tuesday. When i dropped my application it was for 12 weeks. I mailed them twice they confirmed or will be ready in 12 weeks. On Tuesday i wrote them again. This time they said it was now 14 weeks for all Applications but my application was completed and i will receive a mail from UPS. Till now my status on their site is still received. No mail from UPS.

just a venting space

Update

PS: just got the mail from UPS.

SOS!!!!
Hi guys, please what's the appropriate documents to be submitted for a PR visa, an original copy or just photocopies? My friend has just submitted original copies of all her documents(educational certificates, proffessional licences, appointment letters etc) along with her passport for transmission to AVO.
If its photocopies how can we retrieve the original.
Any idea if they would return it with the passports?
Pls help guys.

Sir,
I assume it's PPR for her. How's it possible that you get a visa on a photocopy? It has to be original now.

I have so many questions...
Where did she get a PPR mail that asked for her educational certificates, professional licenses and appointment letters??

Did she send it through VFS?

Is this the handwork of an agent?

Educational certificates sounds like something they'll ask for a TRV. if that's the case, then it could be in Lagos VO. She should find out where it was sent and then write that visa office as a matter of urgency.
If this was arranged by agents, now is the time to ask some questions. TRV or PR? LVO or AVO?

Hi, please I am new here.

I have been reading previous comments here advising people who were paid cash to get a salary certificate or pay slip from their employer.

Please has anyone here gotten Permanent Residency by just claiming he/she was paid cash without further proof other than just the reference letter?

My ex employer paid me cash, without payslips and he is refusing to give me a salary certificate or pay slips now because he believes that pay slips or certificate are only issued to people who gets their money deposited into their bank account and I don't think I can force it.
In addition, my reference letter doesn't state whether I was paid in cash or not. It only mentions my annual income.

I want to follow the advise I have read so far about writing an LOE stating I was paid in cash but then again I think this brings trust issues, especially without further proof.
I have just my reference letter and appointment letter to submit for this place and I have pay slips for the other places.
Will submitting just my reference letter without the LOE for all places be less stressful?

LOE......trust issues? On the contrary, LOEs come in handy as they help convey vital information that the VO should know about your application. It's actually not a big deal to write one. Since you already have salary evidence (pay slips) from other employers, just write and sign an LOE to explain that you were paid in cash.

hmmm this just answers the question stressing me out
joo2018:
Don't worry about probabilities.

You can get PPR by next week or way after July.

At six months validity, go and renew your passport.

Worst case, you get PPR and submit passport. If you get another passport, you can land in Canada as long as you submit both passports to the immigration officer at the POE.

in the new processing for WES, the ist document on their checklist "FINAL SECONDARY EXAMINATION RESULT", does this mean a secondary school transcript or is it done by WEAC office.

pls, note that document 2 is WEAC scratch card details.

I guess his fear is the fact that he thinks the V.O. might just not believe the experience is not arranged as all he has is the job reference, employment letter and maybe the LOE which can be typed by anyone and the additional proofs which he could have presented is not being made available. You know how we overthink things and want to be sure no part of the application comes back to haunt us. Please just give more clarification on this.

IAMCOMING:
It is PPR (in Nairaland slang)

My PPR Story

TIMELINE
ITA: July 25th, 2018
AOR: 30th July, 2018
MEP: 21st August, 2018
PPR: 10th April, 2019
My Birthday: 11 April

Thank you Lord …. I am so relieved and grateful to God for the release from AVO!!!!!*edited*

I wish I can write so succinctly as the likes of @newmum, @tojued et al and my hubby of course…I am grateful and relieved at last to be posting this write up that I whipped up on the 28 February 2019 after reading @tojued PPR story.

Our journey started way back in 2014 when my boss said to me ‘I think you guys (me and hubby) should try this Canada thing, I am not chasing you away o’. Incidentally someone we know in our church spoke about it with us saying his family is in Canada and he will join them soon. He sent some documents and links to read up about saying we can do the application by ourselves.

I looked through the documents and links he sent, and just thought this seems like plenty work and money o, Nigeria no chase us biko. We discarded the thought and process and went on with our lives.

Fast forward to 2016, after having my two children I thought let me pursue my masters and also give my children a better and sane living environment while hubby come visiting because we assumed that the PR process was out of our league since I no gree get my masters , I dey chase man and to born … To cut the long story short so I wouldn’t bore you guys the study route didn’t work out after using an agent and spending some cool cash that could have helped in the EE process.

By 2017 we re-visited the EE process and I took my time to study the process with the help of nairaland (see I be senior here since the part 2 **sigh**. But thanks God ‘oja sope las las’). We planned to go through Ontario PNP if the score does not come down again to 413 which our score would be if we both max out IELTS.

So I took my IELTS in May 2017 (L -8.5, R – 7.0, W – 7.0 , S -7.5)
Got my ECA in September 2017
Hubby maxed his IELTS in January 2018 – Can’t remember the exact scores
CRS score – 407 in January 2018

So we updated our EE profile to wait for Ontario that never came. By March I was already so disappointed and worried that would this Canada dream ever come true. Because I know by April our score will come to 402
I started scouting for other PNPs we could apply to and found Morden Manitoba. Applied and got invited for interview, had the interview in April while waiting for their feedback. NS opened on 28 April 2018, after almost 7 hours of trying we were able to submit our application (this was the highlight of our year)
Got nominated in July 2018 after over 2 month wait, during the wait got a positive response from Morden for an explorative visit but discarded it.

Nominated – 17 July 2018
Medicals – 23 July 2018
AOR – 30 July 2018 (made sure to submit to avoid biometrics)
MEP - 21 August 2018
THEN THE DEAFENING SILENCE!!!!

Just as most people in AVO had thought especially PNP guys, that they couldn’t have gone through the long route (PNP...lots of IELTS etc) to have to a long wait at the federal level again . I prayed for and believed for a speedy process and that by Dec 2018 everything would have be completed cool cool.

My gratitude to God is mainly on the fact that he kept us sane through the waiting period.

Thanks to this thread on Nairaland….I learnt 70% of what I know about the express entry on this thread. It wasn’t an easy journey but it has ended well.

So for those still at one stage or the other, keep faith alive, it will surely happen.

In the other news, we are selling our stuff at giveaway prices, if you are in Lagos and looking to buy something in that regards please pm.

Thank you guys for reading! (Typed on the 28th February, continued on 04 March 2019 in faith and finished 11 April 2019)
Congrats
