STFU!!! Tribal bigot....when they say travel out to get exposure, U won't. In my time at ABU, the school had the highest concentration of Middle Belters and Southerners in d entire country. DAT Course was indeed hell...very bulky. The C I had by the grace of God was more valuable to me than the A in other courses. it's quite unfortunate that it's being status quo

Most of you commenting here have never been to the north.

You can't have all the students in a university class dull. Besides is it not the school that conducts the post ume to determine who is or is not ADMISSION worthy? Thus result is an indictment on the university.

So what? The standard of ABU is still better than that of many universities. In fact, no university in the south-south can even be compared to ABU. In the south, only UI, OAU, UNN and Covenant University can be compared to ABU, and that does not mean they're better than ABU. Don't even mention UNILAG.

If you teach 400 students and 200 passed, the rest that failed are not 200 but 201 you as a lecturer is inclusive. Teach well as a lecturer, be friendly to your students. Treat them like humans.
The lecturer in this context is an outright Failure.

Department of Physics Ahmedu Bello University earlier released the 2017/2018 session result. The result which was pasted in the department wasn't encouraging as many of the students had an F in the course.

I failed Phys 122 twice and passed with E at my third sitting.

The course is too bulky for a 2 credit unit. This course did a lot of damage to my CGPA.

When ever its exam is conducted, the time table for that time is cleared such that all lecture theatres are used up and to help avoid clashes for carryover students.

At the time i passed, 2 of my classmates still failed and spilled over another year just because of this course. They wrote it a min of 4 times since i wasnt around to know if they failed a d wrote again.

The other problem at our time was Math 342, the very wicked lecturer was later fired. He was plain wicked such that he doesn't answer questions during lecturers. There were 2 lecturers for the course and each had his own test. As the course coordinator, he saw the test results and questions of group B, he was furious and promised to deal with us.

We gathered money, bribed some final year maths students who have access to his office for the exam questions. Guess what, having that questions overnight only got me a D. Question 1 was compulsory but he never thought us whatever it was. Even the brightest guys we could find could not solve 2 of it.

ABU is known for these things.

The issue can be viewed from several perspectives like the learning environment, teaching techniques employed by the instructor, previous knowledge of the learners as well as their ability to be interested in the subject matter without being pressured or cajoled!

I think a system should be put in place where lectures should be queried if his or her course is woefully failed. I think he is not a good lecturer. Physics is about the easiest science subject because it has straight formulas.

You've not asked how the students gained admission into ABU to study the course in the first place! Could it be they were 'helpfully aided' to fill certain quotas and entitlements?

Nigerian lecturer naturally love failing students . What will you say about a course(SED 341) I wrote during my undergraduate days .Out of about 140 student , about 80 student failed it, 41 student got E only 4 student got A and 7 B , the rest battle with D and C .

Well, I am a northerner. And that rhetoric about "north and poor education" is not only stale, it's also untrue.

Nonetheless, this is ABU, a university whose admission is not restricted to the "dull" northern students; a university that produced 17 elected governors in 1999. Trust me, PHY122 is the least subject you would expect students with A's and B's in O'level math and physics to fail at that rate.

Meanwhile, the university has issued a statement offering to look into that abnormal failure rate.

How can you tell us that in a class of over 30 people no one can pass the course..
The lecturer need to be relief of his duty with immediate effect,he doesn't know his job..
I call on the government to question the lecturers capability...
