I know that compound like the back of my hand. Golden Tulip hotel and Shoprite are inside, my friend had his wedding inside the hall beside Golden Tulip. There's nothing special about that axis, the road aint even good. Probably a service apartment but then like i said 14M is not real, your boss should show us the actual receipt ok. that's what he told me. anyway, you are right about festac. but the road from the place through mega chicken to the junction is ok. another point: you seem to think that prices of things in Nigeria are fair prices. by fair prices here, i mean prices that a due to market forces of demand and supply. if it were so, based only on demand and supply, even the houses in Asokoro, Wuse et al are over priced! 1 Like |

Wuse II is more expensive than Wuse not the other way round. Rent in Abuja is crazy, it's a known fact. Also you are wrong with Maitama, in 2008 I had someone live in a house for 12M/year. Maitama, Asokoro cant be 4M for the most expensive flat when a regular flat there could easily go for 2M/more.Asokoro and Apo can never be on the same rent scale. 2 Likes |

kikake: Cost of landed property in Abuja does not tally with global trends.
Globally, cost of landed property is tied to the number of industries, population and availability of space.
The more the population, industries and Service companies in a city, the higher the cost of landed property.
The lesser the space in a highly populated city, the higher the cost of landed property in the city.
But Abuja has no industries and Service companies. Abuja has little population. Abuja has all the space to build.
Yet cost of landed property in Abuja is very high, often higher than in highly populated and industrialized cities of the industrialized countries.
Fact is: cost of landed property is fraudulent. Gbam. There is really something wrong with this country Nigeria. I observed same worrying trend. Could it be tied to the Politics going on...since it is the seat of power in Nigeria 1 Like 1 Share |

I observed same worrying trend. Could it be tied to the Politics going on...since it is the seat of power in Nigeria @darkelf pls read this: in Nigeria, the prices of things are NOT FAIR! if they were fair, sentiments like ''this is the federal capital'' should not factor in. that a place is ''federal capital'' doesn't matter to a business man. all he wants is profit, and as far as i am concrened, who ever invested in those houses in the high brow areas in abuja is not making the profit he is suppose to make. this is because alot of them are empty! a business man would not like his property to be empty because he is not making anything while empty. so he would begin to look at why they are empty in order to see how he can get them occupied. this will drive down the cost of those houses to their actual price. but this is if the person who invested in them is a true business man who invested his HARD EARNED MONEY! like you and i know they are not actual business men who invested their own money. they are political thieves who just want to have properties in ABUJA, the federal capital. and the money they used are YOURS! so they are not losing anything if those houses remain empty because they never invested their OWN money. 3 Likes |
