You've not asked how the students gained admission into ABU to study the course in the first place! Could it be they were 'helpfully aided' to fill certain quotas and entitlements?

That is not an excuse, that lecturer failed woefully hence he should be removed or sacked immediately.

Why is everyone blaming the lecturer, could have been the students fault. If you've ever taught in a school, then you'd understand what it feels like to give your best to students and they give you their worst

Remove unn and Coventry ....I once saw past questions of unilag and almost fainted. Lecturers in abu zaria will commit suicide than set such cheap questions

Electricity and Magnetism the course itself is very difficult.

Too many derivation, about 3 three faculties offered the course during our 100 level 2009/2010 session ,the highest grade was C. Almost 90% got E, which I knew very well, the lecturer temper justice with mercy.

U09 also, passed with C.

This has always been a trend. I got a D in this course in 2006 and someone told me I was even lucky. I didn't understand.

The lecturers on this course and the Department in general need to be investigated.

Department of Physics Ahmedu Bello University earlier released the 2017/2018 session result. The result which was pasted in the department wasn't encouraging as many of the students had an F in the course.

My set in Unilorin for 2011/2012 session failed that course too, at least 80% got F. Even when did it again, they just dash some of us 40 for us to go

There are two things at play here.
1: it's either these students are the ones who didn't merit the admission but since they had long legs, it was given them over thosd that actually passed and should've gotten the spot.
2: Ofc the lecturer would be quarried but the educational system in Nigeria is just that bad. Imagine you in primary school doing 8 subjects in a day! This same system is being used up to the Unis how can one cope?! The government sees this, it's another way of suppressing the students in Nigeria and that's why their kids studies abroad. If you doubt this, ask yourself why Nigerian students are always the best students when it comes to foreign students grading in other countries notably the UK?

Besides, what made you think that all the students are northerners? ABU is in Kaduna which is one of the northern states with a high population of southerners and people of middle belt origin. Don't be surprised that almost half of the students are southerners.

The result shows that the lecturer didn't impact knowledge on his or her students. In a ideal situation the lecturer should be replaced or sacked. It is rare to see such results in schools at abroad (developed countries).

It is actually impossible, not rare.

The lecturer obviously didn't impart any knowledge and went ahead to set questions beyond the scope of what he taught.

I had an E in this course in UNILAG many years ago. By the following year when I got into UNIBEN, I made an A in the same course. That shows that there was an issue with either the UNILAG lectures for the course or their exams or both.

Sack the lecturer, he didn't do his job. Most of them believe in the pride of falling students and bragging to their colleagues 'oh..none of my students couldn't even pass my course'.

Sack the sadist bastard, I'm sure he is just a Master's degree holder or at best a newly awarded PhD holder who just got his doctorate after donkey years.

A professor can never release such result.

most chemistry departments has saddist as lecturers this might be because of how they were also taught and treated. Majority of the lecturers claims to be perfectionist.

That's Nigeria for you. Lecturers keep threatening students and treating them like kids. If you report some, they'll take it personal. But some lecturers are quite friendly and easy going. They make the teacher student relationship interesting.

There are Igbo students in ABU and they'll continue applying. They don't carry such such mindset.

pls come again! did u say secondary schl physics? take a look at fundamental of physics by Resnik and walker or advance level physics by nelkon and parker. then u know its not about ur 2 dimensional algebra based physics.

Interestingly, electricity related courses are probably the easiest in Physics dept and these students gather F grades like this. Lol
