I am beginning to have a rethink. Chukwueze should be on the plane to AFCON and even start on the RW in every matches because he is currently the best Nigerian winger (RW) in the form of his life in the whole wide world as I write.

The Samuel Kalu who is suppose to play on that wing is currently not seeing game time in his club. In fact, he has not made 5 match day squad in their last 6 matches.

Are we going to the AFCON with an inform player (Samuel Kalu) who is not only currently warming bench but is not even considered for games?

In my humble opinion, if Samuel Kalu doesn't see games until the end of the season, and in addition, doesn't outshines Chukwueze, he should be replaced with Chukwueze direct and not even considered for a place in the squad.

We should also look for a player that can deputise for Chukwueze on the RW and I think Peter Olayinka is the best candidate for this. That's after seeing him in a friendly.

The fact that his club started him against Chelsea and he still went ahead to distinguished himself above all his team mates shows he deserves to be given a chance. At least this time around he is in form.

We saw what Paul Onuacha did when he was given the chance to prove himself.

Chukwueze might be our own Mbappe in this tournament. There's need to reward performance of players in other to encourage them to do better.

Bringing players not making match day squad over players doing better in a competitive league or tournament is a no no for me.
make sense

Samuel Kalu is a very good player but currently he is not making match day squad.

What do we call it?

Or you have any idea why he's not considered?

Nice to be here again ....
that was a nice group er have got but I want us to remember there is a thin line between confidence and overconfidence. On paper and based on personnel, we should get 9 points from the group but we also need to remember the other teams are not there to sell SUYA and OKPA.
my 23-man AFCON squad loading......

Rohr should consider Mikel Obi. Mildfield is very important.
It would be criminal to omit John Obi Mikel from that team.

Are we seriously gonna omit Chukwueze?

Are the U-20's that serious grin grin?

Experts in the house, what are your thoughts?
U20 is no way close to the seriousness of the National team. The standard I use for the senior team is the best quality of players we can assemble and Chukwueze is definitely among the best.

I doubt most of our wingers will keep him on the bench if Villarreal had the luxury of selecting our wingers to play against Barcelona will keep Chukwueze on the bench.

If Chukwueze is among the best we have, Rohr is doing the team a disservice dropping him.

Finito.

Oga all this write up because of Lateef Omidiji. The boy simply did not measure up and was dropped. Period.

Kudos to Manu for selecting based on merit and not sentiments.
This has absolutely Nothing to do with the individual.

It seems you commented on this somewhat long post, by bypassing the substance, over looking the intent and deviating from the core subject.

That's quite disappointing coming from you.

Anyone can err. But there is no record that he was unjust to a deserving player. Iheanacho was clearly one of our worst players on that day versus Brazil. When Simon had his chance in the last group game, did he show he was head and shoulders above the rest?

Modified
The so called next Nigerian Ronaldo, Theo Solomon that they said Manu didn’t give a chance, what has become of him in Europe over all these years? Manu Garba is the best U17 coach so far, and as long as he keeps on unearthing talents, he should remain.
Manu Garba had every right to drop Nacho from that U20 team because he was not part of the qualifying players and he did not camp with the team.

Finito.

Iwobi did just fine creating chances during the qualifiers. However, Mikel is still needed even as a CM. It’s Ndidi, Iwobi and Mikel. Etebo and Ajayi can be very good subs.

Modified
Is Eze better than Iwobi? Definitely Eze’s chance will come. He has not been as good as he was when the season started, but his name will definitely be on my lips as we prepare for life without Mikel soon.
