I'm pro foreign-born too bros. But realistically speaking, the majority of people who are direct descendants of Nigeria are local-borns who still reside there. So it's important that we create a strong foundation using our primary source of talent before we strip-search the earth looking for foreign borns to play for Nigeria.
I'm all for the best Nigerians playing for us whether they are foreign/local/rich/poor/pure-nigerian/mixed. But when you have to fetch water from a stream a mile away that indicates there's a problem with your tap at home.
I would suggest you move from DOS to Windows and windows 10.

Everything is global things are changing dramatically and at pace.

London is almost another stare capital of Nigeria l don't know the population of Nigerian origin in the UK.

But right now if you have Church without a London branch you have not started. I can go to an Estate agent in London and buy a house in Lagos. If you are a comedian, musician and you don't do a show in London you are not in the game seriously.

There are Nigerians born and bred in the UK who are more Nigerian then Nigerian in Nigeria.

Look playing at a youth competition doesn't mean that you are good enough for the next level. In all sports players can be good at one level but not be able to make the jump to the next. The U17 is not where you should look in crystal balls and foresee the future but a tournament for the best sub 17 players in the world. We should always take the best available be it home or abroad.

Here is an opinion. Nwakali and Iheanacho would probably be in better positions now if they had foregone the WC and gone on trials. The hype of being the best U17 players in the world priced out some clubs that would have been better for their development. Look at Samu Chukwueze who landed in a great Villarreal situation when the hype died down and the top clubs went away. He would have been in the same situation that Kelechi is in at Arsenal. At Villarreal he was made to play at almost all levels, they brought him along slow unlike the rest that were just thrown at the deep end. So this tells you that the WC has nothing to do with the real development. It is just a showcase of the best of the lot.
You are twisting the narrative. The likes of Samuel Chukwueze, Iheanacho and Kelechi Nwakali used the U17 as platforms to boost their profiles. No one is saying the U17 is the only way or a sure path to success.

What I am saying is that look as opportunity as a meal and the foreign borns are overfed kids while those in Nigeria are malnourished.

Giving room to the foreign borns at this level means taking away meals from malnourished kids to feed overfed babies.

Until we sought our developmental grassroot structure, we need as much food for the starving kids.

Finito.

What happened to ideye at greece?
in Greece ideye was becoming a household name...he was one of the league top scorers....
playing for olypiamqos....*sorry for my spelling.

not until he got tempted by the Chinese dollars...and he jumped into the plane heading to China. ..
had it been he was in Greece still prior the world cup with his goal scoring exploits then he would have made the world cup cut...it is a regret he will live it

Chukwueze might be at the same situation as Kelechi Nwakali who has built houses and takes care of the welfare of his relatives. However, without the U17, today, he might not be known at all.

The U17 program has a lot to do with the development of these players. They get high quality coaching which they would never have been exposed to. They get to travel to different places they might never have been to, thus gaining orientation. They get the exposure to show their talent on a big platform.

Something the foreign borns already have.

Finito.

If you can be crowned as the best player in the world how malnourished were you to begin with? Are you saying those players would never make it without the U17s that is a fallacy. Even Emanuel Amunike said he kept Samuel in camp because of his immense talent. Did that talent come from the U17 world cup? What you are subscribing is nothing more than discrimination.

There is a blatant shameless double standard HERE.

When the NFF approached Uduokhai, Jordan Torunarigha, Akpoguma they have been consistently rejecting all advances. But we are still approaching them to date after continous consistent rejections. They have said some quite unflattering things about Nigeria. But nobody has attacked them with the same venom and unguarded hatred shown to Tega Abrahams. WHY huhhuh

The NFF and quite a few here are filled with unbridled hypocrisy. Tega did not tell Amaju to shout at the rooftops that he agreed to play for Nigeria.

A situation that required quite diplomacy and a bit of subterfuge. Amaju carry loudspeaker begin shout.

People have no idea about the high level of pressure that waa brought to bear on Tega. He was caught between a rock and a hard place. Damned if you don't damned if you do. Meanwhile he had not sorted out his long terms future thay could easily been jeopardised.

Three seems to be very limited knowledge of the politics of football and yes discrimination and corruption. You think England were going to sit down and watch another potential Zaha situation happen again.

What l am saying there is lot more to this story that will NEVER EVER BE MADE PUBLIC.

I deviate somewhat we are still chasing these German Nigerian who have blatantly rejected Nigeria. But no mention of Dominic Iorfa who is comparable or even better. Particularly when he made commitments to the SE near three years ago.
scuse me but where is the double standard? akpoguma spoke out of turn nigerians reprimanded him udokhal on the other hand has been respectful

You always talk about players playing in superior leagues so how is dominic playing in the championship better than those playing in the bundesliga
