I am living in USA too, recently USA department of state warns its citizens not to travel to Nigeria because of kidnapping, killings, and violence that may be the reasons. By the way which states are they traveling to? They mentioned Yobe, Zamfara, Adamawa as hot spots.

The embassy found out there were fleeing and cancelled their visa. Say no to illegal migration

If u lied about any of ur information they have a right to deny or cancel ur visa. Since u were granted visa depending on which and stopped on the plane Smtn on ur info definitely changed last minute.

the ticket isn't wasted. Its valid for one year. They could still use it if there's cleared by the USA embassy. they'd only pay a penalty of 100usd each to validate the tickets

So sad for your brother which may actually turn out to be you. The fact they spent last summer in the US means it is likely not to be something to do with what was said during the Visa interview

It is also not to do with you trying to relocate as some insinuated since you had already gone before and returned

It must have everything to do with your previous trip. The Visa was already cancelled and the US consulate are notorious for not informing Visa holders that their valid unexpired visas have been cancelled. Most like you find out when you attempt to use it

You need to go to the consulate and find out what went wrong but my guess is that you already must have a clue

Please investigate this to the letter. Visa restriction also affects Chinese scientists as they are not even given visas when they have legitimate reasons to be there. Conference organizers are now rejecting participants from certain countries because of this. The exact reasons are not disclosed, but it has something to do with Donald Trump's tough stance on immigration. Even when you have a visa, that does not guarantee entry as the immigration police can send you back for flimsy reasons. I have even witnessed US police arresting someone at the port of entry and using scary-looking dogs to frisk people. I did not bother to renew my US visa and I hope nothing takes me there again.

That said, find out why they were pulled out of the plane. It just might be unrelated to the visa. I was once in a flight (with Nigerians) and they had to remove them from the flight because they bought fake tickets. If it might be related to visa, did they put in their applications themselves or they went through third parties? Get as much information as you can and I can help you with an immigration lawyer.
