He did is best! Others didn't turn up. He scored their goals over the two legs what else do want from him. Moreover, he hasn't touch the field for Close to a month before both legs. He deserves some respect abeg
Yes Cr7 did his best

But my problem with his fan boys is that many of them are blaming juventus players because they have been eliminated ?

But they have been saying Cr7 is the only one carrying the team ,now the blame have been shifted to others players that they didn't turn up

Should I remind them that this juventus team played in the champions league semi final last season ? And they made the final also without Cr7 but they say Cr7 is the one carrying them ,now they can now remember it's team work

If we are sentimental like them we will call Cr7 a failure seems they are out

More propaganda talk. Are you saying one tournament will automatically educate? Do you know that academies in Nigeria travel out all the time for tournaments?

You went from wanting to sell off the players to this mess you are parading as education. How bad is the education when we are churning out players left and right.

If top companies are hiring students from a certain university you can never turn around and call the school poor. All Nigerians in Europe didn't play U17 you cannot come up with a legitimate reason.

You keep talking about excess opportunities, let us look at England, with the massive number of Nigerians there how many have played in the EPL? Most this boys have to face racism and flat out discrimination like what was happening at Newcastle. Then for you to suggest that they also get discriminated at home would just be to much for a child. Remember that we are dealing with kids here and scars at that age can be very unforgivable

West Ham sack Tony Henry after he sparked a race row by saying the club do not want to sign any African players because they 'cause mayhem'

https://www-dailymail-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5345809/amp/West-Ham-sack-Tony-Henry-sparked-race-row.html?usqp=mq331AQCCAE%3D&amp_js_v=0.1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Farticle-5345809%2FWest-Ham-sack-Tony-Henry-sparked-race-row.html

Now these ate the few that have been made public with clear evidence to support the allegation.

I could tell you a hundred more individuals and clubs that ate even worse.

If you can have this happening in West Ham in London one of the most racially diverse parts of the UK. In addition BME make up at 41% of the population of London.

Then with this level of diversity how many heads of academies in London are Black how many ate even coaches and how many are managers. The figures are ABYSMAL.

When you come to the North of England that figure becomes 10 times worse.

All these these individuals and clubs perpetrate blatant racism day in day out. With the exception of Liverpool in the North there is no club l cam vouch for that doesn't have issues with race. And Liverpool is not necessarily perfect just a lot better than the rest.

Now that's what our children of black African origin have to face regularly.

So please let know one tell me that they Nigerian origin players have LIMITLESS OPPORTUNITIES. It is simply not. TRUE.

I can tell you of a club in the NW also in the EPL where the Manager has made the same statement but not in the public media.

I know one of the players who left to Watford after seeing he was not that welcome and the prevalent attitude. Buy he will never make that position public.

The national teams are not charity organizations for helping underprivileged kids. It is for the best eligible kids for each age-group. The national team is not there to boost careers, it is to create the best team to achieve results.

If a kid born abroad represents us at under 17, there is a high chance that he will represent us at under 20 and senior level. We should not turn kids away when they are young and then start chasing them if they reach their potential.

Every Nigerian kid should be given an opportunity to compete. Inevitably, we will get most of the boys from home but the good foreign boys will also get in and add some value.

The responsibility to develop grassroots football lies with the clubs, the LMC, the nff and local, state and federal governments. If you have a solid system, European teams will go to Nigeria to pick boys. At best, the national team is a stop-gap measure that does little to boost local football.
Agreed without reservation or question.

If the NFF had not been riddled with corruption and sharp practices. Without doubt Ademola Lookman would be playing for us now.

After going through U17 selection for the Eaglets in London he was then dropped, Whyhuh ❓ Is it surprising that he is very skeptical about our approaches to him.

i believe on this bro.
you nailed it.... those foreign groomed guys are not in an advantage as many here think. they have no same privileges with kids of white race and nationals of their country and nigeria depriving them the chance to play shows we treating them like an outcast.
i think Lookman can still play for us if he wants to...because i doubt england will treat him more than nigeria would

Ronaldo is blameless to me. If you want to blame anyone else is another matter. I personally believe that the racist incident did something to that team. There is a divide in their locker room.

I think Emanuel Amunike should really consider taking their U17 number 10 Kelvin Pius to the AFCON. The boy was just too strong and skillful for our boys. I think they have a gem on their hands over there and a country like that can afford to take a chance on youth because the reward outweighs the risk.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 11:47am On Apr 17, 2019
i've been reading your arguments these past few days as much as i see some reason in the few points you raised i can't concur with your general conclusion of using the U17 national as a development platform for players strictly based in nigeria.

like tbaba rightly said national teams are not charity organizations for helping the less privileged it's for the best of the best in this case the best youth players in the U17 category being selected to represent the country. if like you argued we should use U17 to help and give exposure to less privileged kids then we should just go to makoko or any random slum in nigeria and pick boys since they need it most to change their lives abi?

also would it be fair to deny any nigerian a chance to prove his or herself whether born in US, UK Vietnam or wherever especially if such kids have left there comfort zone and indicated interest to represent nigeria?

the U17s by default anyway is structured to give our local kids a chance to shine so the current setup won't change too drastically over the years. outstanding kids born overseas who have indicated interest to rep nigeria will also be included as time goes on.

TheGoodJoe:
The responsibility lies with the clubs. So if the clubs are not developing, what should we do? Fold arms and throw away the little opportunities we have? You all agree we have no good structure for development.

Other countries like Brazil, Argentina, England, Italy, Germany, France, Spain etc have good structures we do not. So we can not use the U17 for just winning competitions. The foreign borns still have gold mines to excel and can play their part in the near future. However, we still have the responsibility to help the little that we can and the U17 stands a good opportunity until we fix our system which is not getting fixed in the coming years.

Finito.
