We have been doing our own without making noise, Rashidi Yekini a Yoruba is the all time highest goal scorer for the national team

U could only mention one name. It's a clear fact that Easterners are the backbone of Nigeria national team players at every point in the nation's history.

Though not asking about that. I'm asking about wen u will start begging n cajoling m bribing coaches to allow yorubas to play m dominate our footbal national team

Why are people repeating the same sentiments the man had, and feeling like they have made good points.

He said the players are talented but lack attitude.

And there are several players that have fallen into this category over the years

So the above mentioned players are more talented than the likes of great kanu, JJ Okocha, Stephen keshi, mikel and so on. Dude you are high on kunu

Without a doubt but i think the man's assertions are true. If you've been to the north, you will see players that plays far better than JJ on the street but they hardly take football seriouse. We from South like hustling in all things, football included.

even with few Yoruba in the national team we still manage to dominate, and a Yoruba is the all time Highest goal scorer for the National Team now imagine if more Yoruba are able to get in, the only reason there are few Yoruba in the national team is because we really don't put much envisage on Football but Education, most of our parents won't even support it but despite the fact Yoruba still manage to be formidable in the game.

Do you know that 2 Yoruba Players are the highest goal Scorers for the National Team?

Asisat Oshoala is also making wave for the Female team

David Alaba of Bayern Munich is of Yoruba descent

Dele Alli of Tottenham is also of Yoruba descent

Despite the fact that the national team is full of Igbo players will still manage to stay on top

Not true

In the 90's there were village kids in the east who had more skill and talent than Okocha and Ronaldinho combined, but for opportunity

North has talent too cause I've played footie there too

But the best footballers I saw was not those on TV but some of those local talents wasted in the east

Because of tribalism. They don't want to bring Northerners into NFF. Or are you telling me there are no better footballers in the North since the time of Kanu and co?

Oh! I forgot your hatred for Northerners has eaten up your brain

None of them is as talented as oliseh, let alone the greats like the kanus, keshi, okocha of this world.

There is football in Nigeria, but sorry, it is not strongest in the north.

Just one or two can make the grade, generation after generations.

At least you can't call gernot rohr or westerhof a tribalist.

Don't come and ruin football for us the way you guys destroyed NNPC

Igbos have always dominated.
From the 80s to the 90s to now.

Even the national team that placed 5th in the world was dominated by igbos.

Can you tell me any point in our history Yoruba dominated the football scene?

You only mentioned the names of people who went on to become great. The article is talking about RAW TALENT that is being wasted due to work ethics. Its debatable though but I do not see anything wrong with his assertion seeing that he is a professional so knows much more than me in that area.

Most players that became great had the biggest raw talents.

The North does not have the highest concentration of talents or they would dominate our youth teams who most of the time are coached by northern coaches.
That is where I disagree with the man. Yes, There are talents in the north being wasted just like in many parts of Nigeria.
But they are not the most talented in the country.

They can't even dominate the domestic football scene who are often populated by the regional indigenes.

Enyimba and Rangers are the two most successful teams in Nigerian club football.

It's a statement of fact.

Greatness does not come out of thin air.

Messi and Ronaldo are the greatest right now because they are the most talented of their generation, just like maradona and Ronaldinho were the most talented of their own generation.

Yes, we have some players like Frank Lampard who may not be as talented but pushed to excellence through hardwork and discipline, but generally in football, the biggest talents are the greatest players.

Maradona, ronakdinho, Neymar are not even what you call disciplined players.

They partied and drank alcohol like fishes.
It didn't stop them from achieving greatness.

Talent is supreme. It doesn't hide.
