Family!

Please, How feasible is getting a tuition-waiver for a PhD programme in S.A. without having first class, but a weak 2.1 and excellent msc result

UKZN doesn't charge you tuition for research postgraduate degrees i.e MSc and PhD. Furthermore you deserve more than just tuition waiver, try to apply for TWAS-NRF the online application is on. Also check out for CSIR and also inquire from your intended varsity whether they have any form of bursary....

All the best..

Guys, please I have a question. What is the procedure for South African change of visa conditions? I have a visa for a school but I have decided to go to another school (based on personal reasons). My school has not allowed me to register unless I change my visa conditions to be endorsed for study in the school. will I have to start all over again with the documents? Will I have to wait as long as a fresh applicant waits? Does anyone have an answer to my question? Thank you

You have to sort yourself out from DHA, if you don't have DHA in your locality you can go to VFS to inquire of what to do.

hello landers , i have done my saqa and i have plan of doing my masters degree in S.A , am a mechanical engineering graduate with 2nd class lower division as my first degree .. pls which school should i apply too with school fees waiver and what is the cost for other expenses like housing , feeding and likes .... thanks

UKZN doesn't charge you tuition for research postgraduate degrees i.e MSc and PhD. Furthermore you deserve more than just tuition waiver, try to apply for DST-NRF the online application is on. Also check out for CSIR and also inquire from your intended varsity whether they have any form of bursary....

Housing should be roughly R25,000 to 35,000 per annum base on whether it is on or off campus or the situation of where you stay.
Feeding ranges from R2500 to R4000 per month but that's largely dependent on your feeding ways...
All the best..

My younger brother would be travelling to SA on Wednesday for his program at the University of Johannesburg. I was thinking of buying a one way ticket for him, since he has was granted a study visa, in my opinion, I think return ticket's should be for tourist visas holders. But to my dismay some one was telling me to buy a return ticket for him, My concern is that my brother won't be returning to Naija till next year when his program will end, so I don't see the need for an immediate return ticket due to financial constrains. Lastly! A paid return ticket wasn't stated on his visa. PLEASE HOUSE I AM CONFUSED!! PLEASE ADVISE ME. THIS S.A PEOPLE AND THEIR RULES ARE JUST TOO MUCH JARE!

Return ticket is optional for study as far as I know. But you can book it ahead as it is envisaged to be cheaper than when you book one-way later..

Yes . your research proposal matters

You have to secure a research advisor as well, then submit an online application, the application is currently open. PhD candidates are usually advised to apply for TWAS-NRF as they have better chances than DST-NRF. MSc candidate should apply for DST-NRF...

Surf the internet for more info..

good afternoon,

I was denied sa visa application on monday and right there and then, i wrote an appeal letter at the vfs,

I was not even given an acknowledgement slip or any thing.

The lady handling it was not even helpful when i asked for a time line for reverting.

Reason for denial was "UNVERIFIABLE LETTER OF INVITATION"

My question is, has any one ever appealed and won it?

please i ll appreciate an urgent response.

Thank you

Someone should kindly help in this.

I applied for my study (PhD) visa in Jan. 2019 but when it came out this April, I was given only 10 months. This is because my passport will be expiring in Mar. 2020.
I called an immigration Officer and I was told I won't be able to do any passport renewal since it is not up to 6 months before the passport expiry date.

My question is:
Can I actually renew my passport before I leave for SA
Also, like how much is it to renew my passport in SA, and where in SA?

Please, anyone that know what I can do...

I can only answer you about renewing your passport in sa.

Is very easy and fair.

Simply go online you can google Nigerian passport renew south africa you should find the correct site.
From there complete the online application and print it.
Then you go to the Nigerian consulate where you will be assisted you must go with a bank card for swiping cos cash is not accepted. As at the time I did last year it was R1530

Yes that's what we refer to as a virgin passport( a passport with no visa on it). But also bear in mind that if your previous/expired passport had a visa on it, the new one you have right now wouldn't really be seen as a virgin passport. Your previous passport number will reflect on your new Passport and reference could be made on your previous travel history with that expired passport. But for every application you make, i will advise you to attach a copy of your previous visas.
