Saraki Reacts As Buhari Signs Minimum Wage Bill Into Law by olajay86(m): 6:03pm On Apr 18, 2019
Senate President, Bukola Saraki has reacted as President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Minimum Wage Repeal and Reenactment Bill, 2019 into law.

TITOPE BLOG had reported that Senator Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters(Senate) disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Senate had on March 19, approved N30, 000 as the new national minimum wage with an appeal to the Federal Government to expedite action on assent and implementation.

“This makes it compulsory for all employers of labour in Nigeria to pay their workers the sum of N30,000 and this excludes persons who are employing less than 25 workers; persons who work in a ship which sail out of jurisdiction; persons who are in other kinds of regulated employments are excepted by the Act.

Reacting, Saraki on Twitter, while congratulating Nigerians, said the reviewed wage, which is aimed at increasing the productivity of Nigerian workers, is a good step in the right direction.

He said, ”I congratulate Nigerian workers on the assent of the N30,000 minimum wage into law.

”This reviewed wage, which is aimed at increasing the productivity of Nigerian workers, is a good step in the right direction for our nation’s workforce — who are the lifeblood of our dear country.”

Saraki is the greatest man yet, to ever occupy the position of the Senate presidency of Nigeria.

An intelligent guy.

A presidential material.

The APC propagandists are trying so hard to wear the tag of corruption on Saraki, just like Atiku is wearing.

But Saraki will be back. He's too young and too tactical to be gone.

Oloye! You got a fan in me.

This man is a mature politician.

he knows the right word for every situation. Unlike mr lai, oshiomole and co.

he knows when to talk and when to keep mute.

he knows when to fight and when to retreat.

i envisage his coming back will shock APC. Just as he emerge senate president,so shall his return be.

For the first time in recent time both the executive and legislature unanimously reach a consensus. Congratulations to Nigerian workers .

Seriously? People are talking as if 30k is a livable wage for those working in Lagos or more expensive cities... but at least it's more than the previous 18k. And congratulations to NASS for making this happen, in spite of oppositions.

Maybe the next thing is to remove subsidy and raise price of fuel ... nothing comes for free in this country grin grin

Not really... that one is a separate issue as corpers get an allowance for participating in the Service (which is technically a public service, not a job). Hope they will raise it sha.
