You cant compare basic infrastructures like constant electricity, water, reliable public transportation here compared to Nigeria.

Kissing my American passport with much relish! cool

God plus Satan forbid such evil!

This is a silly comment. Even my village has better houses. It is silly to pick one picture from somewhere and post is as Nigeria. Why not post houses from Abuja, Surulere, Lekki phase 1, etc too. America has many poor who eat from the dustbin. I watched a documentary some time back and was shocked. American families picking food from the trash. American families sleeping on the streets! You hardly find that in Nigeria funny enough! Except for Almajiris, most Nigerians have a place to live though it might not be very condusive..
lol oga ntn lyk silly pix bcs u cnt compare average state in US to naija.. or do u need pix of my location also ?

Good morning everyone.
I read through the comments and have one or two things to say.
Some people thrive in chaos, while others thrive in a sane environment.
So if you can thrive in a chaotic place, stay, if not, waja.

Second, migration is as old as man, so nobody should demonize it. It all boils down to choice
thank you

You recommend America as a place for Nigerians to go because it is not racist and one can achieve modest wealth there? Don't you know America is a country built by white people for the special purpose of making life hell for black people, where every cop has to kill 5 blacks every day to not lose his job, where you will be grabbed for absolutely no reason and put in prison to do slave labor, where roving gangs of racist white people walk around with machine guns killing every slightly dark or foreign looking person they can find, and guns just walk about everywhere on their own and spontaneously kill people totally at random? Only if you listen to idiots on the internet! There are two big things to beware of in America. #1: Make sure you always have good health insurance -- medical care is super expensive there and they will go after you to make you pay up. #2: Unless you plan on living your whole life there in one place, don't buy a house; it will be a far bigger expense than anything else. And for the love of god, don't try fleeing, fighting, or bribing American cops -- it will not end well. Just one last thing: America has low taxes, but low government services. University education is super expensive in America, so if you cannot get it covered, you may want to move to western Europe for school.

Its also in the same us that 50% of the population live on food stamps and another 15-25% are working class people doing menial jobs and mind you if food stamps were taken away by the government, then a whole lot of americans would live on less than that 5 dollars a day.
remember the blazay guy? He sells uk used phones in computer village for one mr uche... he's never been to an airport let alone US.i saw his profile on his fone...thanks

Nahh I disagree, I might as well choose to stay back in america and all but I'm telling you frankly that if I am offered a $60,000 p/a job in the US and a $50,000 p/s job in Nigeria....I will most definitely go for the job in Nigeria.

Its also the same way you can't compare st charles prep sch to an inner city detriot highschool or compare havard or yale to some community college.
its 2016 now, how's life in Nigeria??

Yes. I was poking fun at SJW's and Tumblrites in my post. By the way they talk about America, you'd think there was Apartheid in place.

He is telling the truth. Most places in California and New York are not different from Mushin in Lagos. I won't even stay there for free. America is overrated and you will eventually find out yourself.

Actually the best schools are in the US, I don't deny the facts. The thing is why settle for bronze if you can afford gold...my parents can afford to send me and my brother to school abroad so we can have a broader perspective on things (academics/morals etc) and with my grade *sigh* a pretty decent job in Nigeria is waiting in 2014 cheesy

Hello Godogwu

I'd like to ask you to comment on this your post based on hindsight.

Hmmm, I will print it and glue to my laptop screen. When my Nigerian "friends" and scammers are crying to me they don't have money for food and rent, I will read this Post and answer, as American I am more poor, you don't have money and I not only no money but also huge debts. So who is here the poor one? Send me money by Western Union.

some of them yes. Why are you surprised? It's a very well known fact. Some show up as white people and ask for money.

This is 2019

7 years has passed and Nothing has changed, oh sorry, something has changed though. Our president has.

Boko Haram still has a hold on Nigeria 7 years later.
This post made so much sense in 2012 but right now, OP'd get insulted because the country has so gone backward that many would trade their comfort in Nigeria to go to North Korea.

Migrating is now an everyday talk, Germany, Canada, US keep getting the best of the best from Nigeria, our doctors, our programmers, etc. Students who're graduating, both best and average are all planing to leave!

Let us just hope for a better Nigeria because SO MANY KEEP MIGRATING AND BURNING THEIR BRIDGES, is it for good or bad? I can't answer.

For very good reasons. Naira was 210/$ back in 2012, today it's 760/$. Along with that has come massive inflation of even our locally produced goods such as rice, yam and cement that have tripled or QUADRUPLED in price and wages have gone up a bit but definitely NOT doubled.

Safety and security, unemployment, anxiety about progressing in life, corruption. These are all relevant factors. Even for those employed, 500K per month is a massive salary, the stuff of dreams. That's $650 😳, even a fast food cook in the USA can save and remit $150 a month and still have the basics of life.

People of Nigeria, Welcome to The Next Level! Good Luck !!!
Re: The Truth About Living Abroad by Qadaffi2idiamin: 12:09pm On Jul 10, 2023
Nigeria is going down the drain with the new drug lord at the helm of affairs and his drug peddlers infesting the nation and their illiterate tribesmen with misinformation.

Such a pity the best and average keeps leaving , it's not gonna last forever but its worth ditching.
