Pls help, I just tracked my visa and saw this....
Processed application is ready for collection from LAGOS as on 15/04/2019
Does it mean I have been issued a Visa? Or I have to know that by the time I go for the collection?

Congrats

Be positive and go and get your passport

good afternoon,

I was denied sa visa application on monday and right there and then, i wrote an appeal letter at the vfs,

I was not even given an acknowledgement slip or any thing.

The lady handling it was not even helpful when i asked for a time line for reverting.

Reason for denial was "UNVERIFIABLE LETTER OF INVITATION"

My question is, has any one ever appealed and won it?

please i ll appreciate an urgent response.

Thank you

You mean the VFS folks collected the letter of appeal from you?
I had a similar case and this same vfs folks told their is nothing like appeal. That I have to pay again and reapply

I don't know how exactly to qualify how long that was, but thanks to God all the same.
And yes it's a visiting visa

Yes that's what we refer to as a virgin passport( a passport with no visa on it). But also bear in mind that if your previous/expired passport had a visa on it, the new one you have right now wouldn't really be seen as a virgin passport. Your previous passport number will reflect on your new Passport and reference could be made on your previous travel history with that expired passport. But for every application you make, i will advise you to attach a copy of your previous visas.

I wanna ask a question bro

Please I have a friend who was denied visit visa 2013 ,will the person have a problem in applying now ?

Please sir when did you submit ?

Do you have a sponsor over there or invitation letter ?

Where you called before given a visa ?

Please stop repeating these questions, it is becoming boring. Getting a call from the embassy does not signify you will get your Visa. Just be patient and wait for your Visa to be proceesed

Guys. How do I pay for my accommodation in south Africa from Nigeria? The hotel I booked during visa application insist I pay so that they can be able to verify me at the POE. They have furnished me with the account details and the amount in ZAR and Dollars. Kindly direct me. Thanks

Forget about appeal. Just reapply.
My brother was rejected about two times consecutively in 2017.
We called the consular the third time to explain the confusion.
His application was approved the third time with an apology.

Meanwhile, he submitted an appeal too. Two after, we have not heard anything.
I also know of someone who appealed early this year.
Till today not update. Just address the concerns raised and reapply.

Bros abeg one more question.

Did they call you before visa was given to you?

No i was not called, but a colleague was called and he was denied the visa. I personally think they call if they need some more clarifications from applicants.

You should be fine if you get a fully funded Masters program in SA that shouldn't be more than 1 to 2 if you do it on a full-time basis. Surf the internet and read about Mastercard scholarship in SA, TWAS, CSIR and NRF....

I wish you all the best.

Thanks a buch for this sir. It proved really helpful

When were you supposed to resume? I got a denial simply because my resumption date had passed.

We are supposed to resume by February but because I am going for full research masters, its not too late for me to resume now.
And again I was able to register with the school without a visa.

To the best of my knowledge, you can reapply immediately once you have addressed their concerns and confident of success. VFS should be able to advise if this has changed.

You should not have appeal...Appeal takes about 6 Months plus.
just a letter? I dont think what you did was an appeal. Appeal is same as applying fresh application addressing your rejected applications; note you should notify your contact or persons in sa about this so they can be on standby. SA embass wont call more than once...

Hello,
You should have declared your passport missing then apply for fresh passport before your applications; Anyway,,,, once you enter sa you will see lot of your brothers, who can help freely...

like how much is it to renew my passport in SA, and where in SA?

You can renew your passport in sa, the fees is on this website
https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/estandard
submit your application online chose any of this two location; Nigerian embassy in Pretoria or Joburg but joburg is the main place for such...
The fees is stated on there site, you will also pay extra R100 + at the embassy...dont worry when you get there someone will help you out...

Also, like how much is it to renew my visa in SA, and where in SA?
Fees should be R1500 or so and you can make you application online then visit the nearest vfs...dont use agent...

Someone should kindly help in this.

I applied for my study (PhD) visa in Jan. 2019 but when it came out this April, I was given only 10 months. This is because my passport will be expiring in Mar. 2020.
I called an immigration Officer and I was told I won't be able to do any passport renewal since it is not up to 6 months before the passport expiry date.

My question is:
Can I actually renew my passport before I leave for SA
Also, like how much is it to renew my passport in SA, and where in SA?

Please, anyone that know what I can do...

I can only answer you about renewing your passport in sa.

Is very easy and fair.

Simply go online you can google Nigerian passport renew south africa you should find the correct site.
From there complete the online application and print it.
Then you go to the Nigerian consulate where you will be assisted you must go with a bank card for swiping cos cash is not accepted. As at the time I did last year it was R1530

Please, I intend to submit my application this week and would like to make some enquiries:
1. how much is the visa application fee?

2.Will those ‘thugs’ at the vsf assist me in applying (for a fee of course)I.e, making reservations for airline and hotels before I submit my application? I’m at lost on how to go about this, seeing that this is my first time.

3. If so, can I make reservation the same day I’m submitting my form?

4.If I choose to visit, Capetown in my application, can I decide to go to some other city when I travel, or I am stuck with Capetown?

5. Someone talked about VIP services for faster processing. Is it real? Would like to use them if they won’t just eat my money.

6. Are there other things I need to know? I’m already seeing my self in SA for 10 days, and won’t want anything to jeopardize my application.

Thank you all.

Thank you all.

You may find the following tips useful for your questions.

1. Regular visa application fee is 32710. If you choose to do the VIP application then you pay an extra 10k meaning you have to pay 42710. If you require the services of a courier company to deliver your passport when it is ready you pay an extra 3k.

2. Those guys are not thugs. They are hustlers trying to make ends meet. That's their office. That's what they do for a living. They are there to help you.
To answer your question, yes they can make hotel and flight reservations for you at a token. You can also choose to make the reservations for yourself if you know how to.

There are some shops very close to the vfs centre. You will find a lot of people doing photocopy and all there. Enter any of those shops and tell them what you want. Don't ask any of the guys standing on the road.

3. Yes you can make reservations on the day you are submitting but the reservations must carry the dates of your intended travel and return.

4. Once you get a visa to South Africa, you can visit any state of your choice within South Africa.

5. I cannot say for sure whether VIP application makes the visa processing faster but one thing that is certain is that it will save your time with a lot of comfort.

6. You need to make your application air tight. Go with all the necessary documents and make sure they are genuine. If you are sponsoring yourself make sure your statement of account is healthy. Write a decent self introductory letter and get a letter of introduction from your employer. Lastly, the God factor is important too.

Kind Regards.
