Therefore, if some are not fully paying N18K, how can you believe they'll pay N30K?
Greed! Is the only reason that won't make any government pay the 30k.

Do you know that these government pay themselves in dollars?

Hello bro... Have you heard from fcmb? What rate did you get from them? Can we discuss privately cos I feel my fcmb guy is trying to play smart on me. Thanks
Got confirmation of my NTB order/purchase yesterday. FCMB gave me 12.30% for 182days. This will be my first and last time asking Ecobank to bid NTB for me.
We can discuss whatever issue you have with the guy here. Maybe others can benefit from it.

In the alert I got, I saw the text below in the description:

DESC: 20176452564-SELL-BONDMMDISCOUNT

Is yours similar?

The BONDMMDISCOUNT is just making me uncomfortable.

Meanwhile I got 12.365% for 364 days

Happy Easter my fellow investors. You guys should understand that banks don't compete with rates in treasury bills, the primary aim of every bank is to have their bidding rate scale through. And the differences between bank rates are not even above 1%. Banks always lose more money than their customers if their bidding rate should fail.

Please educate me. How do they lose money when their bid fails?

Yeah, banks lose more than customers if their bids should fail, because banks only invest about 30/40% of their customers funds, I mean customers like you and me who entered for t-bills in the primary market, while about 60/70% is their own funds, ordinary depositors funds or funds in ordinary savings, and don't forget banks have billions of funds in ordinary deposit or savings, yielding about 2-6%. And they also lose money from custodian fees or other charges they normally charge every customer if their bid scale through.

Does it mean we can lose money too when TB Bill's go down?
Can we have a total lose on TB?

NO!
it's more like " opportunity cost" than actual loss...
If at all banks loose anything real... It doesn't concern you

I noticed zealous investors of this treat hardly go for break, even when Government has declared it.
I pray you guys will soon hit "the long awaited" target and retire home and enjoy your cash with your loved ones.
I wish you guys the best.

My 50cent. If u convert 50percent of ur dom acct or u convert all to invest in Tbills ensure that ur upfront on TBills is converted back to dollars n saved in ur dom account until d maturity of d tbills. The idea is that the upfront being coverted back to dollars will stand as an hedge to d risk in exchange rate over d tbills until maturity. Bye n large at maturity if d exchange rate does not move against u then u gain but if otherwise f worse maybe that u will neither gain nor loose. It's a risk strategy.[/quote]
