Hello house, I have been following this thread occasionally but finally ready to make the move. My wife is going to be the primary applicant based on CRS scores however we need clarity on the following:

Her current passport with her maiden name expires in 2021, will it be wise to start EE profile with it or better for her to get a new passport showing her marital status with new name before we start the EE profile?

Thank you.

grin grin When last did you need a CSR? When last did you barb your hair? Priorities? That's what a checklist is for grin grin

majamisile:
The person that compiled this NOC checklist is just a piece of work o. I just got to realize barbers and hairstylist belong to NOC B whereas Customer Service Representatives belong to class C. I am just thinking out loud and wondering the rationale behind this.

Congrats bro. I am so glad for your result. I will be humble here; when I saw your only essay sample, one day to the exam, I already knew you had writing in the bag, and that you didn’t need much guidance from me. I only gave you my blessing, and maybe one or two tips, like you said. When I see someone who will excel in IELTS writing, I know them straightaway, just by reading the their essay. If you could remember, I said you were better than me in writing, as at when I did my exam, and your result confirmed it: your 8 versus my 7.5. I’m glad you passed the other components as well. All the best bro.

I keep seeing AVO famous 5 ADRs but I don't know what it means, can someone enlighten me? Also I am looking at submitting my profile and getting ITA/AOR by July/August, so when I do this and my file is moved to AVO for processing, does it mean it will not be touched until next year January - April? Because it seems as if AVO becomes active majorly in this period.

Another question is what if after marriage I do not want her to accompany me immediately because she's still in school, do I have to provide POF for 2 people? Secondly can you guys add me to a group for express entry. Thanks and a happy easter to u guys.

Yeah you will still provide POF for 2 and if you get PPR she does soft landing and come back to complete her studies

SOME THINGS TO NOTE FOR FUTURE "AVORIANS"

1. AVO is not the VO for "crooked" applications like people think. so if you ever find yourself there, don't over-think it, they just like to work at
their own pace.
2. Support groups are great, try to join at least one of these groups. If it becomes too much (sometimes it can be), remove yourself from the
group(s) and go back after taking some fresh air.
3. A good idea is to do a certification while waiting (might not be that easy as the wait can be daunting, but just try).
4. Try not to put yourself under pressure by putting a timeline to the whole thing (PPR, departure). Trust me, AVO has a mind of their own.
5. Don't try to analyse "AVO trends" or what you think is trend, there's no one size fits all with AVO.
6. Finally, pray while waiting. This is the most important point.

Chaii!

Congratulations!

ytp:
....”you have 33 minutes left, you should be on task 2!” At this point, I was inundated and confused because another failure could be lurking around the corner....I had stopped writing.Breathing in and out, I gathered strength from within to start Task 2 at 31minutes to go.Why should wallowing in self- pity strike after exams again? Needed to write for 26 minutes as it is a must to reserve 5 minutes to count my words.By the time I got the last paragraph, the word “dissolution” was spelt as “desolution” but I couldn’t figure it out after several attempts.Had to leave, I was blank, clock ticking and my darling 5 minutes had turned 4 minutes. Counted and recounted my words for the whole 4 minutes. After the exams, I found solace in the word count because I never made it for the previous attempts.

DonTee07 and Wasseynewest, you showed me one of the essence of existence - to be compassionate. DonTee07, I slid into your pm after you offered to review a co- nairalander’s writing and no offence was taken. For four weeks, you were relentlessly on my case irrespective of place and time. The encouragements, criticism, banters, showering admiration on my handwriting and why I should lure the examiner with it in the introduction....can never be forgotten. When I mentioned my “desolution” case, shoving it aside by saying band 9 essays also do have errors doubled my hope.I’m bereft of words,my prayer for you is between me and the almighty.
As for you Wesseynewest, what you sow shall you reap. How many whatsapp group do you administer? You are one of a kind...selfless, down to earth, pragmatic, balanced and your voice/voice notes are the bomb! The last one the night before the exam was the icing on the cake.
I had been a nervous wreck since Wednesday night,so while everyone was trying to check result Friday morning, I was pacing around the house. Ate 5 mangoes before 8am,and took tours around the house for the umpteenth time.By the time it was 1pm,assumed BP had dropped. Smiling sheepishly, I started inputting my data but the two eyes were closed immediately after submit.Releasing one of the lids, I looked down at the writing row... there was a slant on top so definitely not a 6 something, the second lid automatically opened.

First attempt L R W S: 8,7,6.5,7 ( @ Ifeoma, Joo2018 and co were encouraging)
Second attempt L R W S: 8.5, 8.5,6.5, 7.5 ( @ Pyruveluv, you helped with my EOR without knowing me, may you always find favour. I would rejoice with you too. And by the way, you can tear the damn TRF with you.Good riddance to bad rubbish! EOR with BC took 11 weeks and came back negative)
Final attempt : L R W S: 9, 9, 7, 8.
God sent all these people to me including the person that encouraged the use of Write&improve. After 3 attempts with 6.5, I slid into somebori’s Pm.CRS now 451,hoping for ITA before my birthday 19th May....my hard earned 5 points must not vanish.May the odds favour us all.
God bless Canada
God bless Nigeria too sha!

I believed in the Nigerian dream until I graduated from school. However, I was never interested in any 'back-door' process.

It all started with a visit to the Travel section of Nairaland sometime in 2017, I found and read through the process for Australia, I left it for a long while came in October 2017 during my search I found the process for Canada. I researched about life in both countries and their processes and settled for Canada. I read page 0 of part 2 and 3 and started following the thread from part 3. In February 2018, I decided I was ready.

In case your HR/Company is inflexible in rewording the JD, attach an LOE to explain the connection between the NOC and your JD. As newmum said, it doesn't exactly stick out. Going by the rejections, one has to be proactive.

That's my NOC too btw wink

British Council doesn't organize courses, they only invigilate exams on behalf of educational and professional organisations round the world. British Computer Society (BCS), for instance if you are IT inclined, is administered at British Council. You register with the institution and write your exams at British Council. Check this thread for BCS whatsapp group info. Else there is CIMA for accountants, CIPM for personnel mgt, PGD with Open University. These are a few courses that have been treated in this thread. So use the exam name to search here to get specific results. Bonne Chance
