I keep seeing AVO famous 5 ADRs but I don't know what it means, can someone enlighten me? Also I am looking at submitting my profile and getting ITA/AOR by July/August, so when I do this and my file is moved to AVO for processing, does it mean it will not be touched until next year January - April? Because it seems as if AVO becomes active majorly in this period.

The typical 5 famous ADRs from AVO are: Bank statement showing salary deposits, payslips, Proof of Funds, Schedule A and Additional family information forms. This could differ for applicants though.

It’s not a guarantee that your file is moved to AVO for processing if you submit in July. Just submit your application when you can and hope for a good and speedy processing in whatever VO your application ends up. Godspeed.

BCS IT diploma

https://www.bcs.org/get-qualified/international-higher-education-qualifications-heq/bcs-certificate-in-it/

They said you can get more information on it from British Council Lagos

Oh thank you so much. This is the one.
Can it be done even if one doesn’t have any prior experience or degree in IT?
It’s mostly for the purpose of boosting CRS.

British Council doesn't organize courses, they only invigilate exams on behalf of educational and professional organisations round the world. British Computer Society (BCS), for instance if you are IT inclined, is administered at British Council. You register with the institution and write your exams at British Council. Check this thread for BCS whatsapp group info. Else there is CIMA for accountants, CIPM for personnel mgt, PGD with Open University. These are a few courses that have been treated in this thread. So use the exam name to search here to get specific results. Bonne Chance

Thank you very much

Yes, definitely! All things being equal, the BSc should come out as 4 years bachelors degree while CIPM will be 3 years bachelor's degree. When filling the express entry form he / she is qualified to choose 2 or more degrees. The CRS will reflect both degrees.

Adunnee:

Thanks. Does it mean it can be combined with B.Sc. to give 2 or more certificates?

Maybe. I don't really understand the Travel section's anti-spam not myself and I've been banned several times.

My bans are mostly due to website links I've tried to post.

Hey people, my apologies for not sharing my experience as promised. I've been serving a ban.

@Joo2018, can an usually lengthy post result in a ban?

Good afternoon house,@ladymarshall @oga wassey and @ johnnybravo pls help me Go d will help u all. My phone number is 08063926116 and my email address is saidat.bolaogun@gmail.com.

I will be willing to assist you or any other person. My Whatsapp digits are, ‘zero eight zero six zero five seven two five three five’ (I hope I don’t get banned for this). ‘Please’, do not quote this post, so that you do not replicate my number. I will later edit this post to remove my number, because I do not want my contact to be on a public forum like this permanently. If you must quote my post, please edit and strike out the number.

Anyone who wants any assistance, send me your task 2 essays(you can write on a paper, snap, and send to me if you are writing the paper-based IELTS, or you can type and send to me if you are doing the computer-based exam) through Whatsapp; include the question ‘in full’. Please introduce yourself by stating your nairaland name. I will do my best to go through as many essays as I can, and I will discuss with you through Whatsapp calls. I will be available until beginning of next month, May, when I may not be accessible because I will be busy. Afterwards, I may still avail myself though after special considerations.

Also, I want to give a tip on task 2 essays that follow the format shown in the picture below, where you are asked to give reasons for whatever question is stated in the box. People seem to overlook the fact that the task(or actual question), which should determine the structure of your essay(body), is what is written below the box: ‘Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience’. Whatever is contained in the box is the topic and not the actual task of the essay. Whenever you are asked any question inside the box, where you are asked to give a decision, or explicitly told to choose one out of two options, please give your answer straightaway in the introduction of your essay. The body of your essay should only be stating the reasons or points for why you gave that answer. In a case like this, in the body of your essay, I expect you to be listing out the reasons for whatever answer you gave to the simple question inside the box. In other words, in your first body paragraph, you state one reason, and support it with a relevant example, and then in your second body paragraph you state another reason and also support it with a relevant example. A relevant example is a specific story that supports, or explains more, your reason or point in that paragraph. A relevant example could be an incidence from your own life, from a friend’s, or some other person’s life; it could be a story or about an incident you picked up from the internet, television, radio, or a story you heard; or it could be the result of a research, investigation, et cetera.

From reading many essays sent to me, a mistake people make for this kind of question where the task explicitly says, ‘give reasons for your answer’, candidates tend to divide the body of their essays into paragraphs, with a paragraph supporting one view, and another paragraph supporting the other view, before then stating their answer or opinion in a third paragraph. This is wrong. This kind of essay structure(one paragraph for one view, another paragraph for the other view, and a third paragraph for your opinion) is befitting only for tasks that ask you to ‘discuss both views and give your opinion’. So please read the question properly, paying attention to the actual task which is under the box.

I know there may be disagreements with my approach of answering the question type I used to illustrate, but I must say, I know at least two people, excluding me, who used my approach, and they got 7 in writing for such question formats. All the best to IELTS candidates.

I'm asking this question on behalf of a close friend. So he had a name change recently, but I think he didn't do it the right way.

So let's say his initial name was Ali Baba Chukwu (Chukwu is his surname). He wanted to change his surname to his Father's first name, but he went ahead to add his 3rd name. undecided undecided
He now changed it to Ali Baba Dante Edward (court affidavit & publication done already), instead of Ali Baba Edward (tbh I don't know who sent him to add a 3rd name)

Now, he wants to make the correction and I've been racking my head on the best way to approach this. That's why I brought it here.

Can he just go to court and do an affidavit again to reflect the name he wants? Which would now be his former name when he writes the affidavit and does the publication?

@Kfrosh, I wasn’t satisfied with the grading at first cos it wasn’t explicit.I became discouraged until @ pyruvateluv told me he’s been getting 7,7.5 and 9.Then he said he got 6 in one exercise, and after introducing fullstop somewhere it was upgraded to 7!I also tried it with mine and some scores where upgraded, so it was an eye opener.
