Is Onazi's tactical indiscipline even a topic to debate on? That is his primary fault and he needed the kind of lesson Rodgers is giving Ndidi to know that his job was to shield and when it came to distribution, keep it simple.

If nobody else in the midfield will mark what is he supposed to do?

I think he is in a group of death. So I doubt that doing well is the right bar to judge him.

You have already giving him pass mark without knowing how he will do in a competition

But you are writing off Rohr despite achieving double of what Amunike has done

Do you remember the incident between Mikel and Onazi in the Friendly game in 2014 where Mikel got substituted?

What caused that rift was Onazi's indiscipline of leaving his defensive role and dashing forward. It got to a point that we lost the ball and Onazi was not in position. Mikel expressed his frustration in Onazi's actions by refusing to go after the ball. Thus showing the harm Onazi was causing but Keshi responded by removing Mikel for his deliberate action of not mopping up Onazi's mess.

Football is a team sport, you are supposed to help your teammates point blank period.

Onazi was very poor at keeping shape. Like very very poor, Ndidi is poor too but that doesn't mean Onazi wasn't

At his peak Onazi was one of our best legs. Has Ndidi ever had a match as good as Onazi had against Cameroon? Remember we run a double pivot so the other midfielder is not exactly on a field trip either

I wonder where you saw me write Rohr off. Genuinely, I feel Rohr has a chance to win the title and I will not be shocked if he does. However, I always believed the path to long-term success lies with playing possessive attacking football and that does not suit Rohr’s philosophy. We might nick some titles but I do not see him building a formidable international force with his type of play when we are capable of doing that.

I wonder why you are turning this to Ndidi vs Onazi debate.

The point is simple. Ndidi should improve his positional awareness. Which will help him flourish. Something Onazi hardly improved on.

The point is simple. Onazi being one of our best legs does not exonerate him from his positional deficiency.

Finito.

You think Amunike would build this formidable force because he qualified Tanzania for a 24 man Afcon?

Why?

Nothing personal against the guy. Rohr's been doing quite a good job so far in terms of results so when his contract expires,it only makes sense to renew it,so long he keeps producing good results. smiley

Onazi is no where close to ndidi. Onazi's is tactically indiciplined and prone to errors. Ndidi is improving and will get better with time. Onazi na garagara master

It is not about qualifying Tanzania but building a team under a particular philosophy. Amunike is from the Barcelona line I trust and like their philosophy. I see the route as the right way out and will go a long way in benefiting our team. However, Rohr lacks it and his Conservative style is a draw back to the talents at his disposal.

Balogun is in big trouble at Brighton

Coupled with his club is going down on relegation he's not even featuring in matchday squads

So long as he keeps players on their toes

Iheanacho is now working hard and John Ogu has quit his club in Israel because of his no nonsense, no look-face approach

Amunike has not played any major tournament, he has not even played any top African side not to talk of European side

You are basking in false conviction

you're trying to indict rohr...in salisu mess....

was rohr in charge of the WAFU/home based afcon team?
was he the one that was heading the team....when the greedy coach salisu took bribe...?
was he the one that asked the man over 40 years to go take bribe....
salisu is not rohr staff but NFF staff...the football federation employed him...they pay him.
rohr staffs are the fair skinned guys he employed and pay from his salary.

on ighalo signaling rohr to let him come into the game.... that's normal. any confident player can do that....there was no shots or part showed on camera where he bribed rohr. also rohr left out Onyekuru on tactical reasons he explained....

so far I doubt...I repeat I doubt if any nigeria coach can be as fair and transparent in team selection like Rohr

The verdict against rohr on ighalo is very wrong that was the game plan..if you remember vividly the Cameron match when rohr told ighalo that he'll be coming he protested atlas he was brought out

Ndidi has a powerful shot all he needs to do is to improve his aiming and technique

He can't be world class if all he does is tackle

Gbam and he will continue to play at Leicester until he improves. That's what separates fernandinho et all from him

Because I am sick of all the Onazi bashing. You talk positional discipline but was that not the reason Mikel got dropped by Sunday Oliseh for Paul Onobi? Why not bring up that example?

Look at where he is playing.. That is what happens when a player is playing in a league lower than his ability.

Without a doubt. Amunike has the tactical and strategic guides that can make us fly.

Finito.

Knowledge, Understanding, Intellect and Strategy are attributes that we. DO NOT lack, however, INTEGRITY is the component in very short supply.

Does Amunike have UNQUESTIONABLE INTEGRITY

Because Onazi's mobility, tackling ability and stamina was super human. However, his positional discipline failed him from rising to a top quality player.

By the way, Mikel is miles away ahead of Onazi in terms of positional discipline.
