People take in blood and still die, contract hepatitis/ aids, discover allergies and mutated blood group/genotype etc . Who gets sued when these happen? |

Imagine a muslim couple takes their female child to an hospital, if the only doctor available is a male doctor and the doctor finds that if he doesn't act, the child can die, the parents cannot ask him to step back. passwelle:Hahaha....it only worked because it was Chevron hospital. The doctors had to inform the commissioner of police. The police had to quickly go to court to get exparte order before transfusion. Don't forget the parent won't pay for the blood. Now the aftermath....they were in court for 22yrs. How many such cases do you want to do before you die? Remember the parent we're not the one sponsoring the case... it is the religious sect. Bottom line is this....no single private hospital will take such risk. If Jehovah witness want to kill their children by refusing blood....I will gladly oblige them after counseling than going to court for 22yrs 9 Likes 1 Share |

This is one of the best thread I'm reading this wonderful morning. When a child is denied medical treatment which incident all results in the death of the child, the parents that denied the child of the medical treatment are guilty of murder of such a child. I think the religious organization should be communicated to concerning the grave consequences of such act. 1 Like |

E mean say the Supreme court supported the decision of the Doctors as the Child has a right to Live/Life. The doctors are by duty of care expected to save the Child's life. In this case, the child is below 18 to decide for himself hence the court stepped in. yaksdavirus: 2 Likes |

Try this poo in overseas country where their Judicial system is still working and see what the result will be. There are alternative to blood transfusion without loss of life. Who says parent cannot make decision for a child that is yet to reach and independent age. Nigerian heath system do not have the capacity for alternative technology of saving life thereby seeking redress in our faulty Judicial system. Note: There are numbers of cases where certified doctors has adopted alternative means of treatment successfully without blood transfusion, so this one case cannot justify for the rest.
