You can't use mi flash tool on a locked bootloader. You have to unlock first, before you can use mi flash tool. Don't confuse yourself.

You will only brick if when using mi flash tool, you tick 'flash and lock'.


Update may brick your phone if it comes with shop rom like the redmi 6 pro
