Nothing about Nigeria phases me at this point. What is the rationale behind a policy that forbids a female from sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle? Is there a safety concern here or is it possible that Nigerian commercial drivers are perverts, sexual deviants or "out of control" sexaholics that allowing a female passenger to sit with them in front is asking for the passenger to be sexually assaulted or harassed? When an entity [government, corporations, NGO's, etc] institutes a policy, it's to achieve a specific objective and not just for policy sake. So, I do not see any plausible reason behind this female-averse policy.

I was once against this treatment on women sitting in the front.....but it changed when inhale a very terrifying experience with a woman in front with me.....

This Chauffeur was actually trying to overtake another speeding vehicle on a top speed of 160km/hr....while still navigating the tiny holes onmthe road....

To my shock this woman grabbed the steering out of fear......
For like 5secs I didn't understand what was happening... the chauffeur had to park and ask the woman to to the back and I championed it cos......u dare not try such no matter the reason...grab the wheels from a chauffeur,

The woman was busy shouting the driver is reckless.....I lost it that day.....

And truth be told I support gender equality.....but if am embarking on a long distant journey by road....if I come and a woman is sitting in front.....I resale my ticket even for less.....

it's actually not the drivers fault. it's simply because of the road safety officials that will harass them. I met a girl on my way to service @benue. we were going to taraba and she sat in front, the driver warned her about the risk and truly we were stopped and harrassed, unfortunately for the soldiers her uncle is the GENERAL IN CHARGE OF TARABA. MEHN I WAS SHOCKED. NEVER KNEW SHE Z THAT Influential. OUR JOURNEY BECAME A SMOOTH ONE LAS LAS

I was once traveling from abia to abuja, and a lady nagged the driver right from the park to almost kogi... We all got tired, driver threatened to allow us control the care when he leaves the stirring cos of that woman, we had to join hands and mouth to help the driver attack the lady before driver could concentrate...

It was a drama as a driver of peace mass transit, in AFIKPO heading to Enugu refused a Lady shown in the first pic to seat at the front Seat after the bus was fully checked on the ground that it's the company and the road safety policy.

The women in the park demonstrated their anger for such policy against women as the very woman put a call to the husband who I suspect to be a force Man drove in and took over the scene threatening to Sue the company, but as the driver insisted that he would not drive with a lady seating at front seat, another driver offered to move the passengers to another bus for peace to reign. I have experience such for some time now and would want to know if the so called policy exist.

The driver doesn't want to be hearing " driver easy oh" at long as the journey will start

See people's life, so because her uncle is a general in the army she want to act against policy not minding lives could be at stake. Nonsense

If the driver does a dangerous maneuver, she can attempt to open the door and jump out. Seen it before.
Not to mention all the 'Eh', 'ah', 'driver take it easy', 'driver drive jeje o'....

Most times, these women raises false alarm, drag the steering with the driver and complain too much about the driver's speed. The worst thing that can happen to a driver is to have a nagging woman beside her

It's not funny, the woman sitting in the front could distract the driver. For it to be a policy I'm sure they have experienced negative experiences, me sef no dey gbadu that carrying babe for front seat. She go eat granut, Lick orange, swallow egg ,eat moimoi ...smelly smelly food during the journey. Not to talk of sleeping during the journey

The reasons why Drivers dont allow women sit in front is because they easily distract men when a technical situation occurs.....e.g when an Imminent head-on collision is about to take place or when the driver wants to over take another vehicle. In such situations , the driver needs to be very logical and think fast. A woman can become aprehensive and start shouting/crying thereby distracting the Driver. Infact, she might even grab the steering from him by reflex......I've heard of such things happening most times. Infact, my Uncle always tells his Wife to keep quiet(Sharply) when he wants to overtake a Vehicle or make a quick move @a bend. .

Women are known to Panic in crazy ways and this can distract the driver.......
