I need your advise please.

My contractor told me its not compulsory to plaster the kitchen and toilets before tiling.
He is planning to go head and tile without plastering the kitchen and toilets.

He said its waste of material.

Experts in the house what do u think??

He is right. He can put tiles without plastering. No problem.
He just have to make sure the levelling is done right.

Most tilers like it when it is not plastered so the tiles can be on the same level, sometimes on site after walls were being plastered, some Bricklayers don't no how do plaster roughly so we then need to replaster the walls most times to make it even before laying tiles so it is wasting of materials and time and energy. Plastered or not plastered so far the work is done well
