- Two oil workers of Shell Nigeria have been kidnapped in Rivers State.

- Two police escorts were also killed during the kidnap.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Thursday evening along the Ahoada-Ndele-Rumuji-Emohua axis of the East-West road, Rivers Staten.

The two kidnapped senior staff members of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) were said to be returning from an official trip from the neighbouring Bayelsa state when they were attacked by the gunmen, killing their security escorts.

A source in Shell who preferred anonymity confirmed that the senior staff members were returning from Bayelsa State about 4pm, Thursday, with their escorts when they were attacked.

Boy, I really need my ACCA to green, cos I really want to take me a holidays and see all of Nigeria. Even Aba, I have never been to, talk less of those SS areas like Warri, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ctoss River and so on. I really want a first hand knowledge of life as it obtains in those areas. I have pretty much seen the rest of Nigeria, except Borno and Yobe which I don't want to see anyways.

Wow. Now that Shell says it is apologizing for all its misdeeds in the Niger delta.

Shell apologies but still sustaining in power the northern Buharis who refuse regional resource control, is like Shell giving two and taking ten.

i live in okrika. Ateke tom resides in okrika and he is the King of Okochiri a town in okrika. Since 2015-till date With Ateke's presence the crime rate dropped drastically. No armed robbery or even phone theft along the street. You can walk freely at night no one will harass you. Most of the youths are rather busy committing crime in a different way which is bunkering and selling Diesels.

Rivers is a state reduced to rumbles because of crude oil in its domain.

In other parts of the world, areas that have crude oil are near heaven.

In Nigeria, it's the reverse ...

Besides Okrika your list is pretty much spot on. I would have said you should exclude Akuku Toru, but I just remembered the water ways in the area are rife with pirates.

This is the reason why Exxon is selling on shore assets and planning to move fully to Lagos..

A military FOB should be established around that axis.. Or they declare a mini state of emergency there until all those idiots are fished out
