Kennydoc:
Abia, Imo and Anambra have some crude oil, which even though it's not very much, will provide more revenue to the 5 SE states than the share we get from the present FG. Also, take note that the largest natural gas reserve in Africa is in Imo.
Let me remind you that in the next 20 years, most developed nations would have jettisoned petrol and diesel engine cars for electric cars. Crude oil will soon become nearly worthless.

Biafra as a nation will thrive on technology and industrialization. Aba and Nnewi have a lot of industrial potentials that are being stifled by Nigeria. Moreover, there are many more Igbo men in diaspora that will be ready to come and invest in Igbo land (Biafra) if the nation is born.

If South South are to be part of Biafra, there will definitely be rotational presidency between the various regions of Biafra. No matter how bad it is, Igbos will definitely treat South South better than the North treats all of us. Igbos have been co-existing with Efik, Ibibio, Annang, Ijaw, Urhobo etc people for hundreds of years even before Nigeria was born.
"No matter how bad it is, Igbos will definitely treat South South better..." like a father treats his child, right?

Problems with Biafra

1.Food

Most of the food eaten in Biafra comes from.....the North. In the event of a Biafra, food costs are going to rise. A hard border means that any food coming from the North is going to have the added cost of import duties...which means high prices.

Assuming SS joins Biafra...importing food wth oil dollars could help alleviate the problem. The issue is, food imports =loss of foreign exchange =problems with maintaining the value of the Biafra pound.= inflation= higher food prices.

2.Taxes.

Once biafra is declared....all Biafran traders are going to be taxed as foreigners in the rest of Nigeria. The taxes would make life difficult for Igbos used to just doing business freely . At the end of the day, either Biafra signs a dual-citizenship law....or many Igbos are going to carry Nigerian passport to stay

3.Oil

This one is a serious issue. Igbos like to talk about how Hausas are parasitic, and Hausas are parasitic. I could write an article about that. BUT...Igbos too are also parasitic...as are all the tribes of Nigeria.

Be honest, Igbos, if SS refuses to join Biafra.(I am from the SS by the way...and from the way leaders like Wike are talking...SS won't join Biafra).....would Biafra survive? How much oil is produced in Igboland, and Igbo speaking areas of the SS in Rivers, Anioma, etc....compared to the rest?

Because....if SS does not join Igboland....that leaves a landlocked nation....which would have to pipe oil to Port and to Bonny for sale. That means, sports fans....TRANSIT FEES....MORE DOLLARS LOST.

Plus...

4.RESOURCE CONTROL

Biafra....how will resource control work in the new Biafra. ?? Because I have not heard any answer from Mazi Kanu, and Mazi Uwazurike about that. At least, Nigeria, evil as it is, has offered SS 13% derivation, enforced by a Supreme court directive in 2003 that Obasanjo reluctantly followed.....but Biafra? Are you going to offer 50%, 100% resulrce control?

Until you adress resource control....no Niger Delta leader is going to follow you. Or tell me, why would Wike, despite all that the APC guys have done to him, still profess one Nigeria.? Why are all the ND millitants pro-Nigeria?

5.Corruption

Many Igbos like to call themsevles the 'developers of Lagos'....and let's be frank, I cannot imagine any Nigerian town from Sokoto to Lagos without Igbos...it would be like tea without sugar or milk.

But what is Biafra's answer to corruption? Many Igbo states have issues with corruption. And no one is talking about that...instead we are talking about Ganduje in Kano and Fayose in Ekiti??

That is how corruption would destroy Biafra from within.

6.TRIBALISM

Anytime anyone expresses dissent from the Biafran party line...he is a sabo, an 'efulefu'. Yes, some serious anti-Igbo bigots are here on this thread and elsewhere...

But someone says SS is not part of biafra. Instead of asking why, and addressing the man's fears....you Biafrans shout at him.

Remember why Biafra fell the first time? A big part was because Igbos treated minorites as dirt. Yes, dirt. As a result...many minorites ended uip backing Nigeria.

Good example...Issac Boro. BORO had no buisness backing Nigeria...but thanks to anti-Ijaw bigotry exhibited by Ibos....Boro went and became a Nigerian soldier, and died in active service for Nigeria. All because people were calling his people sabo. Same for many minority tribes.

If Nnamdi Kanu wants Biafra, he better start addressing some issues, fast. Or else he would still be shouting 'No lefelendum, no election' till 2098, while Nigeria grows stronger, and absorbs Cameroon and Niger, and Benin and part of Mali.

Now, you are free to insult me, to cancel this my writeup, etc. Good. I don't support Biafra...I am even pro Nigeria...and pro United States of Africa...subsaharan Africa (North Africa can go and join the Arab Union...not that I don't mind them joining us too! )....

But...consider this some advice from your enemy. Because...that is how Scotland lost their referendum when their independence movement leaders could not answer crucial questions about funding the new country, and so on...
So because of these low points easterners should enjoy their pains will the government ONLY favours the SW and the north? Who told you that the north supplies the food consumed in the SE? Even if they do, are they not purchased. They can as well buy from Mali, Cameoroun, etc...like Nigeria imports egg, rice form other places. Biafra can never be as bad as Nigeria...and you know it.

Yoruba Muslims should stop masturbating on Biafra, they are not asking for Abeokuta or Oshogbo to be given to them. They just want to control their corner of Nigeria

Nigeria will not collapse...Just that Nigeria and Biafra could co-exist...and it will be better for everyone. So everyone can progress at their own pace. UN stated Nigeria population will be 210 million in few years, why would everyone bear the brunt of unplanned families by some regions? Why do you want everybody to suffer for the culture and tradition of others, when they have different aspirations?

"No matter how bad it is, Igbos will definitely treat South South better..." like a father treats his child, right?
The first 2 paragraphs of what I wrote shows that Igbos don't actually need South South to build a great nation.

Rwanda is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa today. It's a shining light in Africa as at 2019. It is a landlocked country like South East Nigeria, has a landmass a little less than South East, and they don't have crude oil. Yet it has surpassed Nigeria in many indices of development at the moment.
I said this to let you understand that Igbo land can definitely do well as a country without South South.

I talked about treating the South South right because you insinuated that Igbos will marginalise them assuming they form part of Biafra. You deliberately forgot that I first mentioned a rotational presidency. What I meant is that assuming Igbos even try to lord it over the South South, they will still be fair on them.
Call it father and son whatever, it doesn't matter. There are over 40 million Igbos in Nigeria. The most populous ethnic group in the South South (Ijaw) is less than 5 million. There is no other ethnic group in the SE/SS that has up to 10% of Igbo population. What it means is that at every point in time, there will be more Igbos in any sector than any other individual tribe in the South South.
South South isn't an ethnic group. We shouldnt forget that. For instance, there is very little in common between Efik and Urhobo, Annang and Itsekiri, Ibibio and Ijaw etc, yet they are all part of the South South.

Now Bro read what you wrote didn't you make sense? Yes bro you make sense absolutely this is how a responsible freedom fighter should reason not to be bragging , insultive, arrogant, hateful, disrespectful even to those he claimed fighting for, abusive, chest beaten, war mongering, no good strategy, no common sense etc.

Bro confrontation or creating menace is not the very best in recent generation to seek self rule. The truth is I can not buy this guy called Kanu idea for a second he is a failure and that is why he doesn't care what ever befall the Ndigbo should upheaval breaks out again as per this struggle. He has no land nor business neither NGO, no property of his own in any part of the East so how can I allow such fool to create what will destroy all I have or what orther hardworking igbo people laboured for all their life something that can be achieve with good plan and dialogue with no single hitch.

Bro with Kanu it won't work. I knew him personally I have met him.one on one in UK few years back he is a bitter man and very frustrated failure. Let him go and hussle make money return home and buy land or build house or create jobs back home in the East or found NGO to help the poor in the village I mean he must become humble and a grassroots patriot simple as that or he should f u c k off.

Oga Urhobo should not be in that list. Any Yorobaoid tribe in the SS and those from benin should be removed anytime Biafran issue is being discussed, otherwise that Biafra would be sort of a mini nigeria which is bound to be another series of back stabbing because the people within do not see there selves as people from a common ancestry.

Biafra should only be open to those who tribe was part of the Aro Confederation, and I believe that is also what the people at the fore front Biafra is agitating for

And for those too young or too unread/uninformed to know what the Aro Confederacy i'll help.

The Aro Confederacy was the ONLY closest thing to a federal republic that existed in West Africa, A trading bloc constituted of Majorly Igboid, Ibibiod, and ijoid tribes that traded together, intermarried , and formed military alliances existing for almost 600 years until it was squashed by the british in their quest to take over the territory in the early 1900s. The old people of Aro had a writing called insidibi, most big business men and kings in the old Aro territory had to learn insidibi to guarantee that they were able to communicate/trade within the economic bloc. If not the invasion of the British, the Aro Confederacy would have morphed into a modern country on the bight of biafra. And it would be all up to us to imagine how powerful that country would have been.

Please understand that the if your tribe, whether or not it is in the SS, was not a part of the Aros, nobody is talking about your people when the issue of Biafra is being discussed. Ask your grand parents/uncles.
