Governor Yahaya Bello last night visited the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in his Lagos home The visit may not be unconnected with Kogi State governorship election which is coming up later this year. Bello was declared winner of the 2015 Kogi State gubernatorial election after he was chosen on the platform of the All Progressives Congress as the replacement for the late Abubakar Audu who originally won the election but died before the result was declared. The replacement, which was facilitated by former APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and some party chieftains, did not go down well with Tinubu and his political structure who had wanted Hon. James Faleke, the deputy gubernatorial candidate to replace Audu. Reports have it that Bello may not be offered the ticket to seek re-election under the ruling APC due to his below average performance since he became governor of Kogi State about three years ago. 8 Likes 5 Shares

Bello’s Performance in office is comparable to the performance of governors like Ikpeazu, Ortom, Dickson etc. If the later governors can seek re-election and win, nothing stops Yahaya Bello from seeking re-election. However, I want the good people of Kogi to vote him out. Any governor that fail to pay workers salaries as at when due is simply inhuman. As for Yeye Bello, it will be outright stupidity for you guys to give him ticket because he would lose woefully. Let's see where he is going to get the votes from when Okun and Igala are rigidly against him. For your info, if you don't give a better candidate the ticket APC is gone in Kogi. Even Tinubu won't be able to save him, the only thing that can save him is if they use indirect primaries at the party level to elect the party's flagbearer and I trust that Oshiomole won't accept that at all   8 Likes |
