Hi Am Paul by name .


I need your advice in my intended career path .
I wish to pursue a career on Computer security abroad. I already have a 2.2 degree in Political science . Now,where I need you advice is on the fact that I don't know maths at all

So my questions are :

Should i process to travel and start another degree on the above field ?
Should I go for masters on computer security and uptain some certifications as well ?
Can I be able to do this as I have never had interest in maths since primary school.

I would really appreciate advices from matured minds and perhaps experts in the field of computer science .

Do you have any work experience in tech?
Can you defend your switch from political science to computer science Confidently?
Have you collected the list of schools/country you could be interested in?

The GPA isn't much of a problem.

The reason why I opted for IT security course is because I have always had this interest in ICT even though my parents preferred me studying Law which even ended up not studying . Now I have the financial power to affect my future just as I want it.

Also my interest is on IT generally but I believe IT security is the best of the branches of Computer science(my opinion though) .

My opinion is that you shouldn't start making life complicated for yourself. The computer security course you want to venture in do you think you can survive there theoretically, since you lack theoretically background knowledge ?
The surface you're about to leap has many shaky ground.
First you've literally not being doing computer stuff for sometime being. It has only been in your interest as a dream.
You have very little background with computer and you want to kick start it through masters.
You have a feeling that having a degree in master will improve your dream of being a computer guru.
Who knows if age is by your side to drive this journey you're about to Start and if so do you have the patience now that responsibility will now be coming your way?
You are kinda in a haste to spend the cash you now have.

Only true understanding and passion can help you through this hurdle. If not it better you accept the sad reality and continue with things yoh have background in already. Maybe you can start computing and security from a hobby level.

On why Computer security,my interest is generally on computer science but most specifically on IT security because in a world where informaton is going global through the internet,there is need for security and for me to key into the future .

No,I don't have any work experience in tech

I never had any interest in studying political science ,it was in the process of trying to get admission into Law dept(as my dad wished) that I found myself studying Political science.
I have a strong will to study and pursue a career in ICT.
Based on my enquiry I have seen some affordable schools in Russia which I can study in .

From my own perspective, I will say you are venturing into he most complicated part of computer

Every item in computer has security feature incoporated into it, but because people working on it barely have enough time to look at that security feature very well,

Thats where security expert who specialize in security features comes in.

So like doctors have to be a doctor first before specializing in an area like paediatrics, gynacology etc. So should any one wanting to specialize in computer be.

And your dislike for mathematics is the worst thing that can happen to anybody that want to be in computer field

I wish I have had any knowledge of science during my school days .
But on age,time is nobody's friend but am just 26 going to 27. I believe I can still work things out .

in concise words I think you are not sure you like computer in reality, if that was the case how come you have not been doing it or studying in practical little by little. Or am I wrong? Do you have a practical computing knowledge?

if not why now at late 20's you are now awoke? You case would be different if you have been investing small time and resources into your long time passion. it will serve as a strong reference point in this situation.

Don't take me too seriously, I might just be exaggerating things but one secret is?
Only genuine passion will help here, I am finding it so shard to see it.

The point of my question is that I just want to know your motivation about it, obviously you just want to do something totally different from what you know, your heart is not into it.
My Recommendation is just do something else that you can't just wait to wake up to do, trust me years to come will make this post more reasonable to you.

My advice is that you follow your heart but make sure you are not acting on blind sentiments. If you fail,then you failed following your heart rather than cowering to fear and doubt and living in regret. If you fail you will lose time and money. If you stall you will forever live in regret. You will never know what could have been.
At the end of d day,you've got to quit di analyses and take the leap. Don't blame anyone but yourself for d outcome and dont let anyone tell you how to live your life. They can advice and guide but you are the one to pull the trigger eventually.
