Are you a snail farmer, snail farming enthusiast or lover of organic farming and agribusiness? it'll interest you to join me on this journey as i'd be sharing my field experience here as i go down the journey of snail farming using the semi-intensive system. Sure this can help encourage, motivate, educate, entertain and even protect someone especially in this era where we have social media farmers than real farmers... feel free to share in the moments as we go along

I think the pen Is too tall. If the snail falls it will likely break its shell.
Also did you cement the floor before adding loamy soil to avoid disease pests or burrowing

Nope, The Archatina Marginata is the biggest of the giant African land snail species, and the biggest in the entire universe..

This is interesting and highly commendable.
Please what vegetation did you plant in the pen? And where did you get the baby snails you are rearing? And the net you used for the pen is it plastic or galvanized nets? Thanks brother

Then pen height is absolutely safe as all that was considered before construction. Please note also that this is a semi intensive system which makes it nearest to what happens in nature, as such, cementing wasn't done however the soil was conditioned before introducing the snails which makes it really difficult for such attacks also we carry out regular checks and routine operations which makes it absolutely safe and still organic

Thanks!
The vegetation is simply vegetables and plantain.
I bought POL from a reliable source in PH. The net is both plastic and a special type of galvanized net. Hope this helps

It is a semi intensive system so yes, its alright to leave the roof open.
Please note that there are three systems of rearing, viz;
1. Intensive system
2. Semi intensive system
3. Extensive system

By capacity and in this system, the pen can contain thousands
Each of these systems have their peculiarities

Restaurant, Hotels, marketers too and sometimes households and retailers as you may wish, but all of these people usually come once they know you have it and they need it. Price is determined by the weight of your snails

Thanks brother. I learnt a lot from your answers.
Again, if I may ask, how long does it take snails to grow from eggs to table size?

In a semi intensive system like this, it'll take 10 to 12 months with less expenses on feeding, less labour and greater result, thereby making semi intensive system the most flexible and suitable system
