Comrade Benson Efeotor, a civil servant working with the Delta State Ministry of Finance (Project E-Delta), has returned the sum of N53,121,650, recently erroneously paid into his account by the state government.

In an interview with newsmen, Efeotor said, “I returned the money because I don’t have such money in my bank account.” He added that anyone who will say he was wrong for returning the money to the government is a “thief.”

However, on May Day, he was rewarded with a brand new car, courtesy of the Delta State government.

Nice gesture Mr Benson. Thank God you got rewarded big time with a car and now a good reputation anywhere you table your matters now . You wouldn't have gotten away with the money anyways.

Another upright Nigerian setting a great example for we all. Truth be told though, even if he decided to withdraw the funds and go into hiding, he may have been caught at some point but that doesn't take anything away from his good gesture. I also commend the governor for showing him gratitude with a car, some others would've just said thank you moved on. There are so many good Nigerians and I will never give up on this country. In 1994 Rashidi Yekini became the first Nigerian to score in the worldcup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0.

Those that will abuse him for being honest are already waiting in the wings. Money is important, peace of mind is importanter.

Not everyone is a fraudster. Kudos to the man and kudos to the governor who rewarded honesty.

I treasure that each time I go to bed, I am not afraid whether anyone is after me or whether policemen will knock on my door.

You are the stupid one here. If he had spent it like you imagined, the money would still have been traced to him and that would hav landed him in serious problems. Pls, even to be a criminal as you desire requires a bit of wisdom.
