Innovation (improving) in this context is related to the religion (Islam) and not any other sector of life, Islam is an already prefect finished religion such that when you try to improve it with your own human knowledge you will actually be unconsciously spoiling it as the innovations that you bring to suit this certain generation today might become a treat/problem to other generations to come we already have such innovations causing fragmentation and extremism in the religion and part of this is as a result of some innovations made by the preceding generation in the school of thought of improving the religion to fit certain things...

I might not dwell more on this to avoid unnecessary debate

This is it.. there are core fanatics everywhere even in churches. All we are saying is respect one another in terms of religion, opinion or any other thing. Then we coexist nicely once your teachings does not affect me in any way.
I know a Muslim lady who bangs both Christians and Muslims but says she can never marry a Christian. So that’s the difference. There are Muslims and Christians in US.. it’s their choice, it’s their teachings and it’s their BUS, let them write anything they want.
I hope you understand now. In SW, you can have Christians and Muslims in one family, do your own, I do mine when it comes to religion. And right there is being civilized. And that’s how we operate. What binds us together is not religion, it’s culture. Once you don’t force your religion on me, no problem. I have Muslim friends as I have Christians friends, we disagree on some things but it does not affect our relationship outside that conversation.
