I just saw a video about the redmi note 7 and the guy said the note 7 does not show notifications on the screen unless you manually swipe or open up your phone

what I know is that whatsapp notifcation will pop for 3 secs, then disappears....I think an update should have fixed it

You need to enable individual lockscreen notifications for all apps or for selected apps according to your choice.
