Listen to me very carefully here.
I am talking from experience.
Internships do pay- yes.

Problem is: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for you to get the type of internship that pays (that you are talking about).

Let No one, I mean no one deceive you. You are very unlikely going to get a ‘blue collar’ internship placement. You may not be able to get into industry, because you are very much likely lacking the required competencies and certifications.

Working in Care or Retail or Hospitality (all such temp ‘student jobs’ are not considered Internship.

Be careful. Very very careful. If you can, please mention (here on this forum) what your proposed course is, and what your expectations are. You will get good advise from folks.

Please is it advisable to go for two-year master? And what if you're not able to get an internship placement? Are there consequences? My course business management.

I will strongly recommend that you go for it. If you work 2ce as hard submitting applications with a convincing CV and cover letter, anything can happen. I know 3 ppl from same uni who got placements. Also be prepared to go anywhere in the UK if you find one.

Your school can also help providing details of employers looking for interns. If at all at all you know see, some universities recommend doing abroad also.

There are some runs as well but not going there lipsrsealed

That's why your intended course of study must have relate with your previous study. And you should be able to talk about the benefit of the placement to your career , your future plan.
Ok, thanks.

Northumbria university London

Not to discourage anyone, but the experience I spoke about is that if someone who enrolled for the long Masters at Northumbria University, London study centre.
Forget the noise. When it’s time to seek internship places, you will be told you are strictly O.Y.O

And since internship is considered part of your work, your 20-hour per week work limit still applies.

Stop saying what you dont know. If your MSC course is for 2 years with placement. Then you are eligible to work full time during your placement. The placement is seen as a full time study. Because you did not get it does not mean other people cant. And besides you can eventually change to one year MSc in the during your studies if unfortunately you did not get placement.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Bourne007(m): 6:36pm On May 09, 2019
Work placement is full time just like hosey said. 20 hrs doesn't apply and visa renewal/extension not affected.

University writes letter to employer explaining there will be no work restrictions during placement

Some masters program comes with internship and it will be stated in your CAS, the school will organise it with some companies locally but the problem is sometimes you hardly get internship in your area of study. Very few people will get an internship that relates to their courses.

Some companies see it as a way of getting a cheap labour and you will be lucky to get one that pays you.

Doing internship will not affect your visa renewer as long as your school approves it.

I have long stopped arguing with people.

Trust me, I know exactly what I’m saying. I feel I know more than you (on this matter).

Like I said, anyone wanting to use that route should think very carefully and have plans B, C, E, F...

Internship placements are NOT automatic. And if you don’t have an internship placement, the 20-hour rule applies to you.

If you know someone currently on that route at Northumbria University, London ‘branch’ kindly ask.

To summarise

Do not let your reason for choosing a course with internship is because you want enough time to work.

You might be disappointed and frustrated if you eventually don't get place for internship. Let your primary aim for internship be that your want to put acknowledge again during your studies to work in a practical work environment to gain international work experience which for you would contribute to your career prospects.

I got siblings who got placement and the other didnt get. Your institution would primarily try to get a place for you but its left for the company to accept you. The rule of UK/Eu citizens first always apply.

Like some said, have a plan B C and D.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Bourne007(m): 8:52am On May 10, 2019
It's not just for the company to accept, it's up to the applicant to have an impressive cover letter and CV and also standout during interviews.

Tier 4 students are usually exempted even when switching to tier 2

Is your prospective school on the pilot scheme list?

If your propose school of study is among the pilot scheme, you are required to meet all of the usual Tier 4 Immigration Rules, you will NOT be required to submit documents such as financial evidence, academic qualification, English language qualification (SELT) or confirmation that you have successfully completed your previous UK course with your Tier 4 visa application. Please bear in mind, however, that
1) if you choose to submit these documents, the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) caseworker will consider your application based on the documents submitted as usual;
2) the UKVI can request this evidence during the visa process and will be undertaking some spot-checks on applications submitted under this pilot. Therefore, if you are self-funded or funded by parents/guardian, you should wait until you have maintained the required amount of money for 28 days BEFORE you make your Tier 4 application.

In the year 2012/13 my family and my self were denied a tourist visa. After a interview with school, it was raised as an issue for concern... Just want to know if this would count against me now in my new application.... Also would study gaps be a problem A reply would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You will find fantastic information on the web page of your school.

Perhaps you might wish to return to Nairaland thereafter with specific enquiries?

To the extend that the tourist visa denial was not based on any criminal or fraudulent reasons, you don’t need to worry.
Just make sure you cross ALL the T’s and fit all the I’s this time around.

Study Gaps:
Will only be a problem if you cannot coherently explain the reason(s) for the gap.

Thanks ...reason for refusal was insufficient evidence to show sources of funds..... Plus I am going for international relations, settling for the media aspect as an international affairs analyst, been interning at different radio stations since after graduation.... Thanks this was a relief... Thanks so much again
