Bro it's 22k you will have to pay for illegal parking and not 75k. Just look for money to bail it out if not the more it stays there, the more your money increases and also they will deflate your tires. It happen to me too and I spent almost 25k.

Towing fee is included. Did they tow yours?
I remembered back in 2010 they towed my 2005 Honda. The total bill included towing. They make money via that tow as most of them are the owners indirectly.

Good day to all.
I happened to be unfortunate in securing a decent job, I had an only alternative to run cab services with my Golf 3 having made unsuccessful effort to secure a newer car on higher purchase, for Uber / bolt ride sharing option.

Today 1:00pm I parked @ Adeniran Ogunsanya Street Surulere. The LASTMA swamp in in their tens with several towing van stood each on every car parked on the street, Until every vehicle on the street was hauled to their Iponri office towards costain.

I felt like i was been robbed at gun point, as i watched them insist that the car has to be towed instead of been driven, even after politely handing them the car key.

Zoom they left!

I sighed franticaly and heavily. Knowing that my worst fear in the line of the job just consumated. The thought of scounting for helps to sought out their exorbitant fee almost set my foot in dis-exuilibruim. Having been already burdened with deficient leverage to supply domestic demand @home.

I staggeringly strolled to their office and inquired from the desk officer, whats the fine for parking on the street. go and pay 75thousand he bluntly retorted. I simply sorted out a soft spot and sat to observe the situation as others besieged same office to retrieve their vehicles.

Few that have Ogas @the top restrieved their car almost same hour. I approached an officer trying to explain my financial predicament worsened by impouding the vehicle i solely depend on to put food on the table. he refered me to another, then to another, until I felt my marrow gasping for relief.

I felt for the first time why people take their life, or commit heinous crime, because the society seems to clamp down on persons engaging a legitimate ideal to earn a living.

7:15pm I have to think of where to hibernate till daybreak as the back seat that doubles as sofa bed has been confisticated. Most time i pass the night in the car if i fail to meet up with fair to fro Surulere-Ajah where i domicile.

Now i am consumed by the thought of how long the night will seem, because of the travail on how to bail my car. As for my state of mind now I only hope that Gods grace give me more succor.

So I thought, wish and pray that God send me an Angel by morning who will help plead my case. You may act in place of that Angel and help in any little way. just in case my typo is contorted just know it precipitated from a depressed thought.

Hello sir, my advice may not be relevant to you. I really pitted you.

If you are not from Lagos state, go back to your state . God will bless you beyond your heart desires. Find something that 500 naira can start. Start it, you will become a king in less than a year.

Go for thanksgiving later .

If you are a Yorubaman the price will be reduced drastically or you will retrieve your car at no cost.
Even KAI brigade are going after Ibo and Hausa traders while Yoruba are let off the hook.

Abeokuta my town... That's one of d reason I hate Lagos. I drove my brothers car who is a lawyer one day, I was caught for wrong parking and got to there office for negotiation.

The man in charge told me bluntly to pay 4500, I checked my account and found 100k knowing fully well that i was still looking for 10k to the 100k to balance my house rent.

I called d owner of d car and they started with big big English, at the end of d day, d oga said they should write d receipt for us on his name without paying notyn..

Some of d officers just call big money for notyn.... Imagine 75k... I pray for Angel to come ur way

They arrested our former sales manager sometimes around surulere bypass and l was inside the car. We wanted to ask for a direction and we completely park off the road. They appeared from no-where with their hilux as if they want to arrest Shakarau.

LASMA: You are under arrest
My Boss: For what officer
LASMA: You parked on pedestrian side of the road
My Boss: I don't want to cause traffic that is the reason l parked off the road. He started speaking English and FORTRAN
.. and before we could say jack, they towed our car.

Someone advised him to settle them with 10k, they insisted on 25k without receipt and when we told hi (manager), he said he will not pay a dime but to sue them bla bla bla, report them to Alausa, CNN, BBC grin.
They gave him ticket in their office to pay 55k to special account. Bring a medical psychiatric test report, then go back to lasma office in Oshodi to do driving fitness test, Tax receipt for three years. For good 3 days, the man could not finish the process. When they eventually released his car, they have deflated the 4 tyres and to pump one tyre in their office 1k.

Ambode was able to silence them and VIO but immediately he lost second term bid, they came out in full force.

My suggestion is for you to observe well. Try to identify a ranking officer, forget those ones who towed your vehicle.

When you do, plead and xplain your conditions, am sure you will be let off with a little amount.

those who are worshipping tinubu, and hailing fashola will not comment on this. ambode tried to stop this nonsense. apc policy in lagos is making life difficulty for people. most policies are designed to extort people. fine for traffic offence should not be more than 5% of national minimum wage. If fine is reasonable, most people will glad to pay officially but because fines are outrageous , officers enrich themselves through bribery and corruption.
for the young guy, if you have to borrow money, try to get your car out of that place. I wish you the best.

GAZZUZZ:

nice poetry.

I beg to differ!

It is a poorly composed material ( and no, this ain't poetry...in whatever guise you mean it!)

The OPs usage of "high faluting" and misappropriated words in the bid to come out as "educated" ironically denied the write-up the potency he intended passing across (in my opinion). He would have fared better if he narrated his ordeal in '"simple and correct English".

Ever heard the story of the "educated" chap who called the local fire service station for help? Like the OP he was in a fix (the library in his house was on fire) and he dialed the fire station for help.

This is what he said; "Hello, a magnanimous conflagration is devouring my editorial edifice".

Of course, the whole house went up in flames as the operator didn't understand a single thing he said and thought him high on drugs. All he needed to say was " Hello, the library in my house is on fire".

I wish the OP well and hope he get's his vehicle back.
