This is rather unfair, Bros, I know you well and you're a different person online. You could as well ignore him instead of making it seem like a lier just because he wrote good English.

I beg to differ!

It is a poorly composed material ( and no, this ain't poetry...in whatever guise you mean it!)

The OPs usage of "high faluting" and misappropriated words in the bid to come out as "educated" ironically denied the write-up the potency he intended passing across (in my opinion). He would have fared better if he narrated his ordeal in '"simple and correct English".

Ever heard the story of the "educated" chap who called the local fire service station for help? Like the OP he was in a fix (the library in his house was on fire) and he dialed the fire station for help.

This is what he said; "Hello, a magnanimous conflagration is devouring my editorial edifice".

Of course, the whole house went up in flames as the operator didn't understand a single thing he said and thought him high on drugs. All he needed to say was " Hello, the library in my house is on fire".

I wish the OP well and hope he get's his vehicle back.
This one is just trying to show himself as an English major.

Nope! Far from it.

I have observed that it is better to keep things simple (language-wise) while passing out information. It makes for easier comprehension and thus, better call to action. Of course, there are exemptions to this (such as when writing professional thesis, technical reports and whatnot).

P.S. My written and spoken English is far from perfect. Na manage I dey.

Becareful of people like this. Am not sayin genuine helpers are not out there but do be aware that there are thousands if not millions without conscience in Nigeria. They thrive from the suffering and pain of others. Always be careful before you give out any sensitive information. These criminals are becoming more and more dangerous. Good afternoon all.
what nonsense I don't blame you

Not necessarily poorly composed in my opinion..
Well, I also was gonna make a side comment on his kind of funny vocabulary which I though wasnt needful to relay his message of ordeal

In any case.. He seems to be getting help already from sympathisers..

Why can't all Nigerians simply obey the law to begin with?! undecided

When your car is impounded in Lagos, then you will no it's not about law but about a group of miscreants who have been given power to indiscriminately extort money from people. How do you tell a man to pay N50,000 for illegal parking? Did he kill someone? When fines are indiscriminately abused as instituted under Fasola as regards traffic law in Lagos, all that is next is that miscreants in uniforms hide under it to heartlessly extort others. One of the cardinal root of justice is that fine and punishment must be commensurate, you don't get that in this case. How can you have some much difference between what FRSC charges and what lagos charges for the same offence? I have been a victim and I know what I am talking about. I am a very law abiding person who knows what is right and what happened to me on the day in question was just someone taking advantage of my no being around to tow my vehicle away to that same Iponri. I ended up paying over N50,000. So before you judge others, ask for the details of their travails...

After I left lastma compound with my car, there were so many cars remaining there which owners cannot afford the various insane fines. On top that there is N500 daily demurrage which at the point of payment, the cashier indiscriminately change to N1000. Mind you, once your car enter that compound, you can't do jack unless you know someone somewhere who can wield power to save you.

I called the number she seems to be a LASTMA officer from how she sounded.
i passed the phone to the officer in charge of my case.
the outcome
1. I have been ticketed she cant do anything about it 50k +10 for towing. alas just discovered the towing fee isnt included in the initial 50k i was billed.
2. I can go to contest the fine in court.

Good point, but then not having enough bucks to pay even the official fine demoralized my confidence. I just sought out 10k which can barely set off the fine! except by an unusual intervention!

I am in Bayelsa. I have fallen victim to such. Just pay the money officially and take your car. If U make the mistake of giving them side money, they will accuse you of bribing them and increase your money. So use your brain.

The day I used soldiers to recover my vehicle that was impounded by police in PH, men that day the men in black knew the difference between soldier and civilian.

Hello sir, my advice may not be relevant to you. I really pitted you.

If you are not from Lagos state, go back to your state . God will bless you beyond your heart desires. Find something that 500 naira can start. Start it, you will become a king in less than a year.

Go for thanksgiving later .
see them. destiny destroyers. he should go to his village and start a business with 500 naira, 500 naira oo hmmm. i think u are just testing ur prophetic/pastoral abilities on the poor guy
