how sure are you they are not remitting?

do you work with HR or Finance?

get your facts right before you fall into trouble...

If you are sure... then pencom is the right way to go.

Don't you get notifications when money is remitted to your PFA account? Or don't you have a log in details?

He knows and he's sure of his assertion

Do you have a staff union? Rather take it up with management through the union first, for the safety of your job.

bamasite:
Private company crap.

That is what most of them do. They will claim that they will start remitting it when you get confirmed as a full staff.

It depends... some pfa send notifications once every 3 months... stanbic sends monthly though... he might also have an issue... probably his phone number was not properly recorded with his PFA...so he does not get messages... different scenerios may play out... I just said he should be very sure before jumping into fire...

Besides... although this is wrong... some company's do deduct and fail to remit due to cash flow issues... hence they accrue the pension payable for a while and later remit it when they have a healthy enough cash flow... reporting them might put the company into deeper mess... and the young man may loose his job..... it's still wrong though as pension should be remitted on or before the 10th day of the subsequent month aftet salaries was paid...

A criminal company ought to go under.
Deducting from their pay and not remitting is a crime. It's just like tax evasion.

It is because cowards like you indulge them that this nonsense persists.

Please what can be done? The company i work for keep deducting pension money from the salaries of its staff every month without paying to the Pension Fund Administrators.

What is the consequence of this? Who is supposed to act, me or the PFA?

Is there any known labour law which allows this.

This has been going on for more than a year now.

Write a petition to Pencom and your company is toast! What they are doing is illegal. They will be fined, and made to remit the pension with high accumulated interest rate.

That's the right thing to do. Make sure you have copies of evidence of deduction and alsoif you can ger two or three people to support you with evidence. They will pay with interest.

Some company's dont pay salaries not because they don't want to .. but they don't have the cash... business ain't easy bruv...

when company's are faced with cash flow issues... they make decisions... eg.. delaying salaries of staff or probably not paying pension to the PFA...

Sometimes... think like management... you must not always think like an employee... They accrue this pension payable and when they have stabilised the company and have enough cash... all the accrued pension payable will be paid.

I can give you the law bro... report them... the fine is not up to 100k....

P.S... learn to interact intelligently without insults...

You can contact me for more info on how company's are run... and probably about paye and pension laws if you really wanna know more...

Don't ever write management, write to PENCOM and give details of the company. Ask PENCOM to keep your identity confidential.

This is a very nice case if you should find the appropriate quarters to report to.

Wished you could take this to human rights radio in Abuja (Berekete)..

The people at the helms of affairs there are unarmed robbers. The authorities like PENCOM and co would be glad to make the nation see them as alive and truly working with a case like this.

Why deduct from source if you aren't remitting?

Trouble advocate cheesy

Are you justifying the non remittance of Pension after deductions from the staff salary.

Do you realize that Pension consists 8% deducted from staff salary and 10% of salary of staff contributed by the company on monthly basis.

Do you know it is an offence for the company not to remit duely.

Do you know that non remittance on due dates deny the staff interest that should accrue on it over time.

The situation whereby PENCOM does not prosecute the companies does not nullify the offence, the company is liable in court. Read the Pension Act

Write a letter to PENCOM

This is a very serious issue and it’s a crime sef.

Attach copies of payslips showing pension deductions and a copies of your RSA account statement.

The more signatories from your company you get, the better

Best of luck!!

Na wa ó....so many yahoo yahoo people in this country. No be only street yahoo yahoo boys dey ó.

What they are doing is criminal. You could anonymously write a letter to PENCOM, but before you do that make sure u haven't mentioned it to any staff before cos it may later be traced to u when they are eventually sanctioned and they pay heavily.

Ideally after each month salary is paid u should get an alert from your preferred PFA containing details of Ur contribution and Ur company's contribution to Ur pension fund. I get mine evrytime.
Some compaines don't send alert to you. Mine for instance (trust fund) they have never sent me any alert but my company pays the percentage deducted from my salary to them.

What they send is a letter containing my previous contribution and my total contribution which I don't even get all the time. But the truth is that my company remits the deducted funds to them monthly so I don't even bother.

I would suggest he does a thorough investigation before going public cos not every PFA sends you alert for every contribution made. They aren't banks and are seriously trying to maximize profit.

Ur company is committing a crime. They are supposed to ensure ur money gets to ur PFA after the deductions.

Good morning, this is a nice case to make. Thank you for bringing it to our notice. Just go to federal ministry of labour in your state and report it. It would be taken up immediately you report the issue. Unfortunately I can disclose my number, but you can e-mail me on further direction on how to go about it.
