WordPress, though it costs more. $276 for the premium plan where you can't get adsense. The business plan where you can is $376. Is it worth it to pay the 376 for the purpose of monetizing a blog? I need someone to guide me.
Your information isn't correct in any way. There are two types of WordPress; the hosted (.com) and self hosted (.org). The hosted works almost like Blogger with little control over your blog. The self hosted gives absolute control to you as a publisher.

That said, self hosted WordPress is a bit pricey but not as expensive as the sums you mentioned. What you basically need is $10 for a domain name and less than N20k to get a fairly decent hosting plan for a year. You can get your Adsense approval in the space of three weeks of launching your blog, so long you have good contents numbering up to 15. Monetization begins immediately your Adsense is connected.

What you have with WordPress are ranging packages for hosting plans. When your traffic grows, there'd be a need for you to upscale, which would mean you'd spend more than the initial cost you spent on hosting.

Whoever told you about premium packages for WordPress with the amount you quoted and claim you won't be able to get Adsense is on the verge of ripping you off.

THE FINAL VERDIT

the two has its benefits

blogger is great for those who just want a platform
to begin posting their content right away without any hassle or the need
to be super specific and personalised.

but wordpress provides more customisation options.
has more themes; free and paid to use. and has really wide adoption and popularity.
beyond just bloggers.

the good thing is that you can design a website using wordpress
for your BUSINESS, PERSONAL (BRAND). especially great for small business
owners who rely only on whatsapp or nairaland to get visibility.

with wordpress you open yourself to other audience who stumble on your site.
and if your site is designed well i.e in terms of user functionality, content
and brand style; then you sure can ATTRACT interested clients and customers.

Nigerians have come to rely on only whatsapp and facebook--
but miss out on the massive opportuinity wordpress can provide.

One reason of course is issues with finding web designers who dont give crap or ineffective job (it's not just about downloading a beautiful theme alone).
the rest is a case of people just settling down with the norm i.e with what is available; but miss out
on the potential of having a web presence 247.

You can call/whatsapp 08133997333
to get a wordpress site or even unique blogger designer in lagos
you can work with ASAP.

Get
custom webdesign
unique template
content management
ecommerce site
social network management etc

I have an issue with wordpress. As soon as my traffic grew to 3k they sent me mail that I have reached my resource limit...and I couldn't visit my site again

Thanks. I've already paid almost $300 for the premium plan last year and don't want to waste even more money on the Business plan. Thank God I didn't pay it yesterday.

I've a domain already.

Which hosting sites are good? Siteground? Bluehost?

Please, I need your guidance. embarassed

It seems you bought a basic plan. You'd need to upgrade your plan as your current plan can't handle your traffic.

Talk to your hosting provider.

Glad you didn't pay. Don't make the mistake of buying a huge plan when your traffic hasn't gotten to that level.

Both hosting sites are good. Sadly I use none of them. I use a Nigerian host. I'd advise you opt for Bluehost but don't buy an expensive plan if your traffic isn't worth it yet. You can always upgrade later.

What are you talking about? If you want to use wordpress, use the hosted wordpress. Get a domain, hosting plan, install wordpress free from cPanel and you are good to go.

You're suffering yourself if you're using the main WordPress site to blog. People use hosted WordPress. That is, you host your site in a main host. Example is godaddy. You only pay little although it depends on the plan you're using. Hosting a WordPress on hosting sites costs less than 30$ a year, Which is a good deal. Also, you get the best from hosting your site rather than doing it in WordPress. Quote me to learn more of you're really planning on opening a blog

That money is too big. With namecheap.com just 10 thousand naira you will host your blog. While you can get a domain name with 99 cent or 1.2$ on godaddy.
That's with less than 11 thousand naira or 30$ you are good to go.
