I received a mail from UBA inviting me for an aptitude test scheduled for today being 14th May 2019..
I was asked to come along with..
My Nysc discharge cert.
My OND/HND results..
My Birth certificate/ Age decleration..
My passport at least one..
And finally make a photocopy of each..

I got to the venue at Isaac boro park in Port Harcourt headoffice Rivers State.

After checking in and putting down my name on the attendance sheet..
It was time to cross check our credentials.
And when I got to my turn the Man in charge looked at my Age decleration and told me it was not more than 6months old and as a result of that I am not quality to proceed further.
I obtained my age decleration cert on 6th December 2018..

Please my question is..
How can that issue disqualify me from participating in the exercise..?
Secoundly Why didn't the HR or whoever in charge not specify it boldly..

You could have obtained the one back up to 3 to 5 years. Some companies do indicate it on their adverts that your age declaration must not be earlier than say 3, 4, 5 or 6 years. The years damand depends on the company sha

You must be a joke, you want to use 6 months age declaration to get a job. What did you use while in school? Use it if you are not hiding anything

I had a change of name which promoted the need to add an age decleration cert for clarity..
Of kuz that's what I used in school the old one..
But while trying to apply for DSSC in the Army nd Nigerian Navy I was asked to do a new age decleration cert to avoid unnecessary questions..
Since I didn't get d job I have to continue using it..
I hope you have a job or u don't have a need for it because one day u will know..

Change of name has no correlation with Age declaration.

Why did you decide to do an age declaration?

You cant just simply say because i amended my name so i should do age declaration too.

it can it has once generally announce that if you are using age declaration it most at least be a year as at the day of tender so it is possible for you not to be attended to for the interview.

WE CAN'T JUDGE HIM THAT HE FORGE THE AGE DECLARATION BECAUSE WE ARE NOT SURE OF THE AGE SPECIFIED. MY ADVICE IS THAT LET US LEARN HOW TO KEEP OUR DOCUMENTS, BECAUSE IF U PRESENT NEW CREDENTIAL PEOPLE WILL THINK THAT U FORGED IT... I DIDN'T BLAME THE BANK AND THE INTERVIEWER.. same thing happened here in UBA bank in Abuja..
the lady that came with me to the aptitude test was screened out coz of her age being above 27 yrs and wen it got to my turn i passed that stage into the CBT. people that enter before me were not smiling i just wasted my time going to that aptitude test coz dey made me sad with their frustrating questions

Why come here to complain? That's a normal thing cos it makes it obvious that you may have adjusted your age to suit their needs.
