President Muhammadu Buhari had before the passage of the new minimum wage bill stated that the salaries of all those earning above the minimum wage would be reviewed.

The inauguration of the committee by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Gida Mustapha, came one month after President Buhari signed the national minimum wage bill into law.

The committee, which has four weeks to conclude and submit its reports, is chaired by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita. The SGF will also serve as the Alternate Chairman.

The members of the committee from the government side are the ministers of Labour and Employment, Budget and National Planning, Education, Health and Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

Others are Director General, Budget Office of the Federation, Secretary, Federal Judicial Service Commission, Secretary, National Assembly Service Commission, and Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wagst

If Buhari can speedily and hurriedly see to this minimum wage stuff, the way and manner he dealt with embattled Justice Walter Onnoghen's matter there would be no need for unnecessary time buying and insensitivity.

What is the good development there....a bill that has been signed into law since, still been subjected to committee level for what da fvck exactly. Visionlessness at its peak..people holding position without a firm grapse of with the office entails.

All this nonsense are just plain delay tactics, upgrading a pay roll is no rocket science for crying out loud.

By the time they put you there, you will not even know your left and right. All these your big grammar will turn to sweat.

Your opinion was given from the blind point of things.

There is a disharmony in the pay structure of workers in the civil service and certain MDAs. For instance, CBN, NNPC, DPR, etc pay salaries way above what other workers in the same grade level in ministries earn. The disparity is way too much.

That is what the committee was set up to look at. Their ToR will be with high paying MDAs not the minimum wage.

The salary a director in the service earns is far outweighs what someone directly below his grade level earns.

That is the committee's remit.

I'm struggling to see the logic in your submission are you aware that this minimum wage has been subjected to several committee reviews prior to the eventual signing into law..or are you saying that the discrepancies in the salary structures across ministries, agencies and MDAs has not always been there,...shouldn't they have done a more thorough job at harmonizing all the scales before the eventual passing of the bill and signing into law..

What else are the constituting government bodies listed amongst this committee doing all this while, the simple truth is that mediocrity and incompetence reigns supreme in our public service, little wonder the country is in its present pitiable state.
