Chips101:. It this is a non immigrant visa thread and not an immigrant visa thread. If one is looking to leave the country, they should do it legally. The state of your country is not America’s problem. |

Well I guess you weren’t honest in your response on birthing and she didn’t believe you hence the denial. If you have future plans for birthing, I believe it should have come out during this interview. newmum: |

Nersh:lol!...Even me that I'm not a visa officer just reading her response one could sense her hidden intensions was to eventually use that visiting visa if approved for birthing in the US |

peaceful22:If you’ve ever wondered why US visas are harder to get even for established travelers? Look no further than this example of willful disregard for the law. You honestly should never be issued a visa again. You have no right to simply enroll your kids in school to “keep them busy”. You don’t pay property taxes that maintain those schools. Those school may be “free” to you, but they cost the average American home owner thousands of dollars a year. |

ozymes:How in the world do you define “levels of grace”? |
| Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by TWoods(m): 2:06am On May 15, 2019 |
newmum:Basically you lied at your visa interview. The lord gave the visa officer a different level of grace to refuse you. |

I believe he doubted my response. But what could I have possibly answered. Frankly speaking... before the visa interview, I had no intentions of giving birth in US in the future sef. I have never been a fan of giving birth abroad. I’m not even pregnant now. Somehow the rejection made me to rethink the kind of future I want for my kids. I so much believe that this country will be great it’s only a matter of time and we will get there. How ever till we get there, I can’t imagine my kids having to come for interview every now and then to get a visa plus the heartbreak associated with the rejection. So I and hubby made this decision to have our next baby in US. This decision was made after the interview (believe it or not, I can’t change what happened). So I want to know my chances. If my chances are slim, I will rather remove that plan from my table and think of other things to use money and do Nersh: |

Na you cause ham ....haba 8weeks business trip also within a year plus company sent you on a business trip no way that lies no work VO: why were you in Netherlands and Spain Me: On business trips VO: (he calls the company I work for) sent you on a business trip? Me: yes VO: how long were you on this trip Me: 8weeks VO: How long have you worked for xx Me: 1yr + VO: and within a year, xx sent you on a trip? Me: Yes. |
| Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by TWoods(m): 5:29am On May 15, 2019 |
newmum:The only way forward is to try again. My concern though is that you already told this VO that you were not looking to have a baby in the US. Going back a few months later to now ask for a birthing visa may look suspicious. But that being said, there is no harm in trying again... at worst you’ll get denied again, at best you may end up with a nicer VO. No point worrying yourself to death about the outcome. |
| Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by newmum: 5:50am On May 15, 2019 |
Thanks for this but for clarity, if you read my interview post well, the question was if I intended to give birth in Maryland... and the answer is No and will remain No cos I don’t intend having my baby in Maryland.. if the question was do I plan to birth in US in the future, then that’s a different ball game. But you are right, it will be suspicious to come back few months later now applying for a medical visa. Like you said, the worst that can happen is another rejection so I will definitely have an open mind and hope for a positive outcome. Hmm. Please any link to a detailed process of applying for a medical visa? Will appreciate that. Thanks TWoods: |

newmum:8 weeks business trip for a company you just started working with is a mighty red flag. Maybe it's your company, you could have just told the VO. I've not seen such before. I'm not saying it's not possible. It is but I haven't seen such |

| Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by mfonox: 7:47am On May 15, 2019 |
TWoods:If you knew keeping them occupied would be a problem, why stay there for 3 months....SMH. Nigerians are a special breed. why weren't they in school here? their long holiday here is not up to 3 months. i believe your initial intention was to relocate, then for some reason u decided to come back and restrategise......Nigerians una well done ooo. and u come here seeking for advice without telling the entire truth. like people here cant see through your bullshit. |
| Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Nobody: 8:45am On May 15, 2019 |
Where was the lie on that transcript..she wasn’t pregnant at the time of the interview..the decision came after she has been rejected..then she opts for the medical visa which is the appropriate thing to do..so where is the lie?. TWoods: |

Demicoker:Too often we are guilty of thinking about our case in isolation. We forget that the VOs hear cases like this countless times everyday. They’ve learnt to take stories like hers with a pinch of salt. What company in Nigeria sends you on an 8-week “business” trip to Europe within less than a year of employment? As far as the VO is concerned, she’s basically shopping around for countries to have her babies for citizenship purposes. |
| Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by lalavita: 12:03pm On May 15, 2019 |
Hey @newmum Thanks for sharing your transcripts. I believe you’re sharing to pinpoint areas that can be improved for future interviews. 1. Your purpose of visit The VO made it clear he knows the state so it would be helpful to have listed specific activities you planned on doing. The DMV actually has lots of interesting tourist attractions for the family like yours. The vague answer seemed to raise doubts about your aim. 2. Your previous travel My company also sends people on trips regularly even if they have only worked with us for a short time so I get. However, you should have provided better context - like - I spent 8 weeks in Holland during a mandatory on-boarding training or I was in charge of a team implementing a new software system. These are examples. Yours should be the true story of what you did there. General biz trips are rarely that long. That instantly answers any questions or doubts. Regarding next steps, you may consider Canada as they give long term visas and since you have a job, travel history etc, you have a solid chance. As per the US, they are not smiling at the moment regarding birth Tourism. However, if you are determined, put together all relevant documentation and apply for a medical visa in 6 months plus. newmum: |

Good day everyone. Just got directed here by a colleague. I have a 221G interview coming up with my family next month(booked since December) but I may be unable to attend it due to work exigencies. I however want My hubby and kids to attend the interview. My question now is, will I be able to reschedule on this same Visa fee or do I have to pay for another one ![]() If it can be rescheduled(hopefully) , please how do I go about it? |

Please I need help on how I can fill ds-160 form for my parents. They are actually going for a relative wedding. The issue now is if I should fill their form together or separately. They can both afford the expenses on their own. |

Chips101:You don't need to escape, you can leave crossing the border, you can get your passport. Try to escape from North Korea, there it sucks. Still Nigeria makes hard financial life for Nigerians but you are free to go. Many countries are the same difficult, Nigeria is not the best but not the worse. Freedom to cross the border even walking is priceless. |

You have to fill the form separately. Every individual is filled separately. at the point of scheduling the appointment, then u can schedule together as a family. |
