For me I would say yes oo..
On the long run in case anything goes wrong you can always liquidate and not loose so much..
I don't see myself buying any other brand asides Toyota cause of resale value and repairs

You buy it cheap, you sell it cheap. You buy it high, you sell it high. So all this talk about resale value doesn't make sense to me.

Having said that, I agree that Toyota is the best for the job in terms of reliability. Even at that, I can only recommend 3 Toyota models: Corolla, Matrix and Yaris.

Yes, we all are here to share experience, and I sharemy own experience.

How come all of you insisting my experience is incorrect. Posting my earnings is illegal.

You all claim to earn more than me, and when I say earning 20k net weekly, you claim is nothing.

From my 20k net, I have been able to save more than 300k in 4 months and you keep telling me is nothing.

Well for me is something, I appreciate the opportunity and I'm very grateful
Your experience is inconsequential in the midst of those that followed the train from the boom days to date. I made up my mind never to quote you, but since you decided to quote me, I will speak.
You once posted a dashboard revealing about 10k gross for that day, singing praises to Uber.
Now, your dashboard never revealed to newbies that at least
- 5k was for car owner (35k weekly rental)
- 2.5k was for Uber (commission)
- 2.5k was for fuel
- let's forget card, sub, data, law enforcement guys, food, etc. How much was your take home that week? How do you manage to make 3k daily as you claim? How come you make 20k weekly, when 3k X 6 days = 18k?
Even if you make more than that, you can see the money is going to be spent on expenses. Are you advising or deceiving newbies? You complain we attack your claims, yes. You can't deceive newbies, and we sit and watch.
You are an ex labourer, so Uber is sweet in your mouth. I believe your advice should be for your former labourer colleagues; not for the public. There are bankers who follow this thread, considering leaving their jobs for Uber. Some of them net in multiples of your 3k daily. Some are not in the banking sector, but are doing way better than an average Uber driver. I find it quiet apalling and ludicrous that same you came here one day, claiming Uber driving work is better than working in a bank!
The way you are going, in 1-2 months' time, shame go de catch you to comment here.

See mumu, the 10k I earn is after Uber commission. Uber only post ur earning, they don't post your earnings with Uber commission.

Rent:5k
Fuel:1500.... I didn't drive fully. I spend 3k fuel If I drive fully.
Card:100 for that particular day.
Food 600 twice eating
My take home 3700

3x7=21k... I make more.

Fridays to Sunday I make it double and even more.

I've driven on both platforms and i can say without prejudice that its really not worth it, especially if you do not own your car. Like most employers here, Uber and Bolt are taking serious advantage of the high unemployment rate in Nigeria. Things they cant get away with in other countries, they do here. There are so many challenges a driver faces that is not commensurate with the revenue at the end of the day. And like our country Nigeria, young people cannot come together to speak with one voice to end the injustice and unfair play. It is quite ridiculous that you will drive to pick a rider at home, wait and drive him/her to his/her destination in an airconditioned vehicle and still charge same or less what a yellow cab will. I can assure you, if all the drivers on this platform, down tools for a week, they will adjust. Its so simple, THEY CANNOT make money without the drivers. It is a little sacrifice that will reduce all the complaints made here. It is not too much to ask for. Ehailing is not for everyone, it should be a premium service and it is up to the them to introduce variants of it, if they so wish. It can be done

I follow this tread because I wanted to invest in the business but then I can see over time that it’s going down or let me say it doesn’t work on rentals.

Hire purchase is the real deal for investors but let me address why I came up to talk.

In US and Canada, you can’t see drivers on rentals. It’s either they totally own the car or currently paying it off in a more convenient way.

Will you tell a guy on rentals to go on strike? Or a guy on hire purchase in a country where the owner of the car doesn’t even want the guy on hire purchase to see out his contract.

If all car owners on ehailing go on strike, a guy on rentals will see it as an opportunity to make more money.

Association cannot be formed because nobody will back such in Nigeria.

In as much as the leaders of Nigeria can’t do something about the future of youth as regards unemployment, so many foreign companies will come and take advantage of the situation of the country.

My brother, forget strike and union. Just pray to God for breakthrough in all areas of life and move on for good.

My brother that is a big fat lie .. I know in the USA for fact. Uber has rental, you can rent from them... A good friend of mine had car issue for a week.. He rented a car from them for about $246 a week ... when he told me that I didn't believe him .. So than ask him again, so uber those rental? He said yes now ,just go to their office and you get a car.. To my understanding, uber partner with another company for rental.... I can double check for you...... So please let's try and give out proper information.. The more we are well informed, the better we can make better business decisions..

you can’t call it a fat lie just because you were informed after you didn’t believe it happens.

I never come across anyone who does rentals in Canada but then, you said it’s a weekly stuff.

Let’s face the main reason I came up to talk, that’s what you should address but thanks for the information anyway I will make my research.

Now tell me, with the standard of living in US and Nigeria, did you make findings why they could strike over there and it’s not possible in Nigeria?

Going by your calculations, you used 1500 fuel to make about 13000 adding ubers commission. Your hybrid prius must be a brand new one

If you're a driver, you will enjoy driving around Lagos, while meeting new people.

If you have a job of 100k a month doing fraction job, quit driving Uber and focus on that job.

Uber is not the best job in the world, and is not the worst job either, but for me at moment, is the best job so far, I have experience in my life.

I didn't invest a dime, just my little energy and I'm making money, God bless Uber.

My dear brother,

I really appreciate your work rate. It’s fantastic but pls don’t look down on pple.

You are young and energetic. If I want to do Hire purchase today, you are number one on my mind as regards what you upload over here.

But remember, everyone is running his or her own race.
My friends younger brother does #50k a week on Hire purchase. He is completing the payment by next month after 1.5years. Toyota 2005 corolla.

He’s of your age bracket. His next plan is to get another car and give it out on Hire purchase but definitely low delivery.
I see your passion for this business, try to get a car on Hire purchase and pay it up as soon as possible.

Rentals is not for a passionate guy like you and pls most pple hear are older than me or you and it’s also a faceless forum. Pls take it easy with your responses.

So you send 100 per day on card, with your nos of trip. To make 10000 without Uber commission you send 1500 for fuel how much for toll, data and no responsibility at home. For the two days the two dates how much fuel do you use

Personally uber is hard enough doing rentals.. Me personally for now ,I can't HP , to much stress from hp.. So in my humble opinion, I think investors should stick to rentals

My assumption is that you are referring to uber drivers in the USA .. People still make money, but I guess nobody wants to put in all those hours to make am ...uber in Yankee is good for part time work... but I believe that people doing it full time are the ones complaining. Another friend that I know does it part time and he loves it ... in the USA uber has provided a lot of people to be able to work at their own pace and time .. It has given people freedom to be their own boss ... so you can't always bake your cake and eat it at the same time

Pls someone should help me, am purely new in this business and I don't want to make 'huge' mistake.

Either way it is very tough bro ... I went from about 10 cars to targeting 5 cars now ... very tough business, but sometimes managers ,drivers ,mechanic do make the job much harder.. Ever since I change mechanics, my car has been doing very well. It was change of mechanics that encourage me to continue... I also took time to hire good drivers too ,have been lucky so far ... so on that hp level I can't give you advice o .. I don't want to lead you astray..
