The newly appointed Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, on Thursday advanced reasons why he accepted his appointment, saying it was not meant to spite Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi.

In a press conference, the Emir of Bichi, Bayero categorically stated that he never lobbied to become the Emir to downgrade Emir Sanusi.

According to him, what people should take cognizance of is that since time changes things, l accepted it in good faith.

Bayero said history has it that” From 1963 when his late father became Emir of Kano till date, a lot of changes had taken happened and would continue to happen.

Let me give an example of myself. l was appointed Danmajen Kano I 1990 by my late dad; I later became Danburan Kano, then Turakin Kano to Sarkin Tsakar Gida and finally to Wamban Kano it may interest you to know that l have never gone to anybody asking for any of these appointments.

“Again from the time my late dad became emir to the time he died, he saw a lot of changes and he accepted them in good faith. Historically the Police, Prisons, customs, Judges, and schools were initially under the Emirates, but as time went by, they separated and our forefathers had accepted the changes.

“For me, having five Emirs in Kano will not affect its development. if the Emirs have the concern about the development of Kano, they can work together and move the state forward. There is no difference between all of us” he noted.

While commenting on the relationship with the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi ll, Bayero noted that” Sanusi is my brother. He has respect for me and I have respect for him. l am from a royal family. When he was appointed Emir, I was among the first set of people that paid homage to him and l gave him my support and l will continue to support him.

“So, because I am appointed Emir, l don’t think he will not support me to succeed in all my undertakings. l have no grudges against him whatsoever and I don’t think he has any against me, he stressed.

Change is constant indeed.. A former CBN governor reporting to the Presidency directly,is now reporting to a local government chairman's house.. This is the APCs kinda change of retrogression

Did anybody force him to start reporting to a local government chairman? He elected to be Emir or didn't he?

Yes, Change is constant. History has a way of repeating itself. One day Bichi emirate could be balkanized or merged back to Kano just because a SLS stooge became governor. It would have been more natural if the creation of new emirates were without political undertones. I wish you people well. But Kano emirati will surely not recover from this.

I found it disappointing that some Kano elites have gone to court over the creation of the New Emirates because they want to PRESERVE their age-long HERITAGE of having one emirate serving the massive population of Kano State.

Try to reform Almajiri systems. You hear, "leave it, it is our heritage". Touch early marriage. You hear, "leave it, it is our heritage". Try to modernise cattle rearing. You hear, "leave us alone, wandering about with cattle is heritage". However, how come people use television, phones, and other sophisticated technologies that were never part of their heritage.

Come on gentlemen of the North. Hasten and open up Northern Nigeria before it is left completely behind. Time is running out.

By the way, if Emir Lamido Sanusi is a change agent he always claims he is then let him accept this as a necessary sacrifice to move Northern Nigeria to the next level. He should partner and work closely with the other Emirs.

Welcome to Nigeria
The center of darkness
The land of deadly politicians and fraudsters
A land flowing with criminals, bandits, kidnappers and hypocrites
A land with useless and gullible followers
The gods shall never show mercy to those who founded Nigeria

Lol Sanusi, the beast you joined hands in creating is not only using u for a test start but grinding out the SAinNUSI already. We're proud of u Gandollar hit him harder till he resigns and goes to jail too, u joined in Creating APC to humiliate GoodLuck and move him off office, he's already outta office with an international recognition for handing over power peacefully, but we'll remember u as the first Kano thief Emir, resign pls.
We call on Gandollar to follow this case up till Sanusi lands in prison, thanks.

You have been wailing since 2015, you will still wail for long. In 2015, we disgraced you all at the polls. In 2019, we humiliated you all at the polls. Come 2023, we shall completely incapacitate and annihilate you enemies of progress. This is our Next Level, take it or port to Cameroon with your Cameroonian bisexual Atikuloot

The governor quoted what's supposed to be according to the constitution as written.
Nobody seem to say its false.

SLS is a change agent but not in the context as we expect him to be. SLS is a man with his own agenda and he will want to see to it. But I believe apart from political reasons what the governor did is the way forward for kano indigenes. Let all embrace it.
