The question you need to ask yourself is what is the grading system of high school (secondary School) there in Texas?
Aside the regular courses they take which amount to the 4.0 scale, they are allowed to take (optional) AP (Advanced Placement) or Honors courses which accounts for the additional GPA ..and the OP said she got all "A's" in her AP courses.
